- I am a stroke survivor doing my best to care for my beloved dog while facing daily challenges. With no income and limited options for work, it's been nearly impossible to keep up with basic needs. My dog means the world to me, but I haven't been able to take him to the vet in some time, and he only eats actual meat, which makes providing for him very expensive. Every day, I worry about how I'll manage to keep him healthy and happy. Your support would help cover the costs of his food, overdue vet visits, and other essentials that we both need. It would give me a chance to focus on recovery and stability, knowing that my dog is taken care of. I am truly grateful for any help you can offer—no matter how small, it would make a real difference in our lives. Thank you for considering our situation and for being part of a caring community. Your kindness and generosity mean more than words can express.

Help a Stroke Survivor Care for His Dog
0% complete - My name is Tim, and I’m reaching out because my life has changed in ways I never could have imagined. Not long ago, I suffered a stroke that left me with severe brain damage. Now, I have no short-term memory, and my cognitive skills are worse than a 9-year-old’s. Every day is a struggle to remember even the simplest things, and it’s been incredibly hard to adjust to this new reality. On top of my own challenges, I’m also trying to care for my mom, who is living blind and has COPD. We’re both facing overwhelming medical bills, and transportation to appointments has become a huge hurdle. I want to be there for her, but it’s hard when I’m struggling myself. I am desperate and I fear for my future. In the present, I feel completely lost and hopeless. Any support you can offer—no matter how small—would mean the world to me. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering helping us during this difficult time.

Support for Tim After Stroke and Family Hardship
0% complete - My name is Tim, and I am reaching out for help during an incredibly difficult time for my family. Not long ago, I suffered a stroke that left me with brain damage, and I am still working through the challenges of recovery. At the same time, I am the primary caregiver for my mom, who is living with COPD and is blind. To make things even harder, we recently lost my father to cancer. The weight of these hardships has been overwhelming, and I am doing my best to keep us both going. The financial strain has become too much for us to handle alone. Medical bills and prescriptions are piling up, and we struggle to afford groceries and the medical devices my mom needs. Getting to appointments is also a challenge, as we rely on Uber rides for transportation. Every day feels like an uphill battle, and I am reaching out to our community for support. If you are able to help, please know that every single penny will go directly to meeting our most urgent needs. Your kindness and generosity would mean the world to me and my mom. Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story and for considering a donation. Your support gives us hope and helps us keep moving forward.

Support for Tim & Mom’s Medical and Living Needs

- My mom, Edith Campbell—who everyone calls Dee—has always been a fighter. She’s 73 years old, completely blind, and living with COPD. Every day brings new challenges, but Dee faces them with a sense of humor and a love for sports and soap operas that keeps her spirits high. Since losing her sight, Alexa has become her shield and armor, helping her navigate a world that isn’t built for someone who can’t see. But as her COPD has progressed, her needs have grown far beyond what standard senior care can provide. Dee’s safety and independence depend on specialized tools and support. She needs talking medical devices—like voice-enabled pulse oximeters and blood pressure monitors—so she can manage her health without needing to see a screen. We’re working to set up a smart home environment, with voice controls for lights, medication reminders, and emergency calls. Home modifications are also essential: tactile labels, grab bars, and auditory smoke detectors will help her move around safely. On top of that, Dee needs professional home care and medical transport for her frequent appointments, as well as medical-grade air filtration to protect her sensitive lungs. I’m also a stroke survivor, and Dee is my only support. The financial strain of trying to help each other is impossible for us to manage alone. We’re reaching out for help because these costs are overwhelming for our family. Every dollar raised will go directly to making Dee’s home safer and her life more comfortable. Any support—no matter the amount—would mean the world to us. Thank you for reading Dee’s story and for considering a gift that will help her live with dignity and hope. 1. The "Talking" Medical Suite Since she has COPD, she needs to know her oxygen levels and heart rate constantly. SmartHeart Talking Pulse Oximeter (~$40): This is one of the most reliable 2026 models for the blind. It clips on the finger and clearly speaks the SpO_2 (oxygen) and pulse rate. A&D Medical Talking Blood Pressure Monitor (~$110): A common complication with COPD is heart strain; this monitor gives loud, clear audio instructions and results. Talking Thermometer (~$25): Essential for catching infections early, which is critical for someone with compromised lungs. 2. The "Independence" Upgrades WayTag / WayAround Starter Kit (~$50–$100): These are small stickers or tags you can put on her nebulizer, oxygen concentrator, or even medication bottles. She can tap them with a smartphone (or a dedicated scanner), and it will play a recording of what the item is and how to use it. Voice-Controlled Smart Hub (~$100): An Amazon Echo or Google Nest. She can say, "Call [Your Name]" or "Set a timer for my breathing treatment" without needing to see a single button. 3. Professional Air Management Medical-Grade HEPA Filter (~$500 - $900): For COPD, the air has to be pristine. Brands like IQAir or Blueair make units that can significantly reduce the "heavy" feeling in the air for her.
