- Hi, I’m Emma, thank you for taking a moment to read this. I'm fundraising to help cover the cost of specialist treatment for bilateral Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS), involving arterial, venous and neurogenic compression. This means nerves and blood vessels are compressed in my neck and chest, causing persistent pain, nerve and vascular symptoms, and major limitations in daily life and the use of my arms and hands. After years of symptoms, investigations and extensive conservative treatment, surgery became the recommended next step to prevent further deterioration and give me the best chance of recovery. I have already undergone one surgery, but a second operation is still required to give me the best chance of regaining function and independence. Accessing timely specialist care through the NHS has been extremely challenging, with long waiting lists and differing treatment approaches, so I have had to pursue private specialist care to access the recommended treatment plan. The financial impact is significant. I have no private medical insurance or other financial support, and I am contributing everything I can personally. Being unable to simply ‘work more’ to solve this has been one of the hardest parts of this journey, particularly as someone who has always enjoyed working hard and often held two jobs. More than anything, I want the opportunity to recover, return to work, and live a full and active life again. Any donation, no matter how small, helps go towards my surgeries, recovery costs or time out of work. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page is just as appreciated. Thank you for your time and support. With genuine gratitude, Emma
