<div>This has caused her incredible grief and stress, and we’d like to help ease her suffering in whatever way we can. She can ill afford the insurance excess and mortgage repayments right now, let alone the increased insurance premium ongoing. We know everyone is suffering financially right now, but if you can spare even $5 it would go a long way in showing Mum that others care.

<div>Our mum is one who will help anyone and everyone, and has done multiple times over the years. She’d literally give you her last dollar, or last morsel of food.

<div>She’s been dealt blow after blow throughout her life, and never asked for anything. (In fact, she’ll likely be annoyed with us for even asking for some support as she’s too proud to accept help).
</div>

<div>Now it’s our turn to show her she is worthy of a little support too.

<div>We’re all aware of the crippling rental crisis that has affected our country for the past couple of years, leaving many with no place to go. Because of this, when a friend asked if a destitute woman could park her caravan temporarily on mums property as she had nowhere to go, mum readily agreed.
</div>

<div>Fast forward to September 25 of this year.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Mum was about to head off to the beach with her dog Clancy, when *Sharon said she’d mow the lawn and asked mum to start the mower for her. Mum did so, then set off for the beach.
</div>
<div>About an hour later, mum receives a text from *Sharon, with the words “fire here”, accompanied by two photos of firefighters battling the fire which had now engulfed the shed.
</div>
<div>Mum called me in a panic, and we all raced out to the property. Nothing could have prepared us for what we saw. Fire crews everywhere, hosing down the 4 bay garage, which was now a twisted and buckled pile of metal. All the tools and equipment and personal belongings inside were reduced to nothing but wet ash and rubble.
</div>

<div>Mum lives on bush land, and we’re extremely grateful that the firefighters were able to extinguish the surrounding trees which had caught fire, before it spread to the nearby house.
</div>

<div>The cause of the fire? For reasons known only to her, apparently at some point, *Sharon had decided to leave the mower and return to her caravan, where she locked her dog inside, and decided to cook eggs. She then returned to the mowing, leaving the dog, and the cooking eggs unattended. Whether the eggs have burned dry, or the dog has knocked something over, we will never know, but sadly the caravan was an inferno before anyone noticed the fire and the dog could not be saved. The caravan was parked close to the shed, and the heat of the burning caravan has caused the items in the shed to ignite.

<div>The shed was being used to house all the usual things - lawn equipment, tools and such, antique furniture, and sentimental belongings that just wouldn’t fit in Mum’s small house. Unfortunately it was also being used to house her daughter Sarah’s belongings, which had been stored there during the time she was homeless. Birth certificates, baby photos, cherished items, personal effects belonging to our deceased father and grandfathers. Things that can never be replaced.

<div>*Sharon’s insurance is claiming they have no obligation to cover any of mum’s damages, leaving Mum to claim through her own insurance. Unfortunately this is an expense mum will struggle to cover, especially since she’s had to take time off work to deal with the aftermath of the fire. This also means her insurance premium will increase, even though the only thing she did wrong was to offer shelter to someone who claimed to be in need.
</div>
<div>Financially, mum has been struggling for years. A huge increase in her mortgage due to a relationship breakdown (read: her ‘partner’ went and married someone else before ending their relationship - then demanded she buy him out of the property - despite the fact the deposit came from the sale of a property mum had owned well before she even met him).
</div>
<div>Then mandated out of an industry she’d worked in for decades, leaving her to now scrub toilets to barely make ends meet. At 68 years of age, she should not be running herself ragged simply to just exist.
</div>
<div>To say she’s feeling down and out, hopeless and despondent, would be an understatement.
</div>
<div>She’s at a very real risk of losing her home now, due to the added financial pressure the fire has placed on her, not to mention the mental and emotional trauma.
</div>

<div>On Wednesday the 19th of July Shanaya was flown by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter to John Hunter hospital where she was admitted to ICU with Diabetic Ketoacidosis. Where she later suffered Seizures and underwent Brain scans that found Haemorrhages. Shanaya is 14 years old and has only come concious late yesterday afternoon, still very weak and they're struggling to control her levels.

<div>Clarissa is a single mother of three Kids and now faces financial difficulties with taking time off work , medical supplies for her condition, and just everyday living costs which we all know is hard at the moment. At the moment it is unknown just how long Shanaya will be in hospital for , we are hoping to take some financial stress off Clarissa so she concentrate on getting Shanaya better.

Help Support Shanaya

<div>Any Support is appreciated!  A truly wonderful friend of mine’s beloved family dog Winnie has become very ill and is currently in full time hospital care to keep her alive. Right now she is unable to breathe on her own. The thought of losing  her is gut wrenching for the family. She is suffering tick paralysis and is the loving companion to 3 beautiful little boys who love  her so dearly. She’s been through quite a lot this year with just recovered from accidently chewing on a toxic plant which caused so much internal damage to her little body. Having just paid off those extensive vet bills poor Winnie is proving quite the adventurer. I want to add to this that her owner Hannah spends her life nurturing and helping others with her clinic and Aurelia Alchemy. Every night in care is costing them over $1000 but if you have a fur baby u know the lengths you go to when u are trying to save their life. Meet Megan Lamberton: beautiful mum and a successful small business owner of The Style Room GC.  

In November 2019, 31-year-old Megy was given life-changing news: she had inoperable stage four bowel cancer and has just five years to live.  
 
This cancer means she may never have the chance to grow old with the love of her life, Justin, or see her gorgeous three-year-old daughter Harper reach high-school.

Charice Amaro DeMesa is 10yrs old, and is suffering from Chronic Kidney Failure - Stage 4 (both kidneys). She's had 3 major surgeries and is still going through dialysis as her left kidney has failed already while the right kidney is functioning at 20%. As of today,  she is in need of a Kidney Transplant as soon as possible.  Charice lives in the Philippines and they were told by doctors that they won't be able to proceed without sufficient funds. This is the last thing I want to be doing at the start of a new year. But time waits for no one and I desperately need your help.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />I've decided to create this Go Fund Me on behalf of my gorgeous, courageous, incredible childhood best friend Angela. Ang is a strong, proud and independent person who never asks for a thing, yet she's the first to drop everything to be there for anyone and everyone. Ang is way too proud to ask for help so I have decided to reach out on her behalf<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />To say Angela's had a rough 18 months is an understatement. <br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Due to dense breast-tissue, Ang has always had very regular breast scans for years. Yet somehow, the cancer markers that eventually led to a ‘breast cancer diagnosis’ were missed after her initial scan. <br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Ang was first diagnosed with breast cancer exactly one week after her Mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer and given 3 to 6 months to live. Ang being Ang immediately moved in with her dying Mum to care for her at home right until the very end. She happily did this without complaint all whilst fighting for her own life and enduring intense treatment (including chemotherapy, radiation, surgery and hormone treatment). Heartbreakingly, Ang was also required to be put into medically induced menopause, which meant, at almost 40 years old she would never have the choice of having a child of her own.  Ang did all this all whilst continuing to work full time, as having recently separated, it wasn’t financially viable to take time off. She followed every order her oncologist and team gave her. She did exactly as she was told and after months of treatment, was told she was in remission.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Ang had won her battle and was given the all clear. She was excited for the new year ahead and hoped that life could get back to some kind of normal. But her life was about to take another turn.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Less than a month later, and living with less than 60% lung capacity due to the life-saving radiation she had to undertake, Ang went for a routine lung scan to determine what treatment was available to help her with the simple things in life. Simple things like going for a walk around the block, having a night out dancing with friends, sleeping well without struggling for breath. Simple things we all take for granted. Whilst the scan had one intention, another made itself apparent. Ang received a call from her oncologist who informed her that they had discovered spots on her liver during the CT lung scan. Further follow up revealed a life-shattering diagnosis. Ang was told the cancer had spread to her liver, and she had Stage 4 Terminal Breast Cancer with no further treatment options available. She was given as little as 6 months to live and told to go home, write her bucket list, and start ticking it off.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />We don’t accept that. She doesn't accept that. This girl is a fighter; she is not going down that easy. Ang made a Bucket List, but Number One on that list are the words ‘SAVE MY LIFE’ and she is totally going to tick that bitch off. <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Ang has stopped work (staying alive is a full-time job now) but unfortunately the bills don't stop.  Integrated therapy treatments for cancer in Australia are not medicare rebated and don't come cheap at approximately $2500 p/w. So in addition to the ongoing treatment costs for treatments she like the rest of us also has mortgage payments and everyday expanses she will continue to have to cover. Ang’s goal is to stay as healthy as she can for as long she can, this could mean seeking more alternative treatment abroad. <br /><br /><br /><br />For those who know her well, Ang is resilient beyond measure. She asks for nothing from anyone. She’s strong, self-assured and positive. She’s also ridiculous amounts of fun, with an outlook that defies her bleak situation. But what really stands out is her fight and her ability to always see the light and positives in situations that would frankly crumble most people.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />I know that we as a nation are currently in the middle of a catastrophic event where people are fighting for their lives and homes daily, and my heart is breaking for Australia because of it. I know many of us have already donated to this cause; and I thank you for that. I just hope that a few people out there can extend themselves a little further and donate just a few dollars to contribute towards my friend’s fight for her life. Ang's Fight For Her Life - Terminal Breast Cancer

Late in the night on Saturday 4th January, my parents 6 acre property and home of almost 20 years in Kiah, NSW was completely destroyed by the 'Boarder Fire' which had started in VIC. The fire raced North with the hot weather and wind change late in the day and travelled over 40kms in 2 hours. They also lost their sheds, machinery, vineyard and prized olive trees. <br />As our fire fighting resources were stretched so thin, there were no firefighters, aircraft or anyone to help defend this beautiful part of the world.<br />My parents had prior warning so safely evacuated with 2 cars and a few treasured items. They are being housed and well looked after by some amazing friends in Merimbula.<br />At the moment as a family, we have no idea what lies ahead on the road to recovery for them. I feel completely helpless but my main priority now is to shower them in love and support. <p>My mother(Cathy 57), sisters (Shelby 23 w/autism, Kayla 21), my brother in law Jakob(20), and sister in law Hannah(16) lost their homes and all of their belongings in the Butte county fire in California. They were ordered to leave at 11am. They took only what they were wearing, their private documents and their animals. <br /><br />It took them 7 hours to get out of the fire, with no cell service, no gas and two cars loaded with 5 people, 6 dogs, 4 cats and a hamster they set out to drive to safety. After 4 hours of driving in bumper to bumper traffic the Butte county fire department came and filled their tanks half way. The next hurdle was the maps, with no cell service all they had was a line of traffic and a picture of the road map to go by. As they drove further away from the fire the cell towers were all being flooded with calls, overloading the phone lines; it was impossible to get through and get steady service. The phones would fade in and out preventing them from having a stable connection to communicate or receive data for maps. Then OnStar chimed in thankfully they were able to direct my family out of the situation and to a location where they could find asylum for the night.<br /><br />All of the evacuation centers were full and with Shelbys autism and dysautonomia they could not have her in a center and risk her being overwhelmed so they stayed in a motel.  (Dysautonomia is an umbrella term used to describe several different medical conditions that cause a malfunction of the Autonomic Nervous System. The Autonomic Nervous System controls the "automatic" functions of the body that we do not consciously think about, such as heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, dilation and constriction of the pupils of the eye, kidney function, and temperature control.)<br /><br />They have no place to go in Cali, the only relative is me and I live in Honolulu<strong>. THEY lost EVERYTHING, including their JOBS, three houses, a 40ft motor-home, all their clothes, shoes, household items, musical instruments, supplements, natural medicine and medical supplies </strong>!!! My mom makes medicine for the disabled community in California, she is a herbalist and alternative medical consultant. To make matters worse my mom has no renters or home owners insurance, she had just moved into Magalia and was in the process of negotiating to buy the property they lived on with the three houses. Together in my 4 bedroom home there are now 12 people living here.<br /><br />The money we are asking for is going to be used in a variety of ways.<br /><br />1. to supplement the loss of wages so they can afford to support the 5 of them while they are temporarily displaced in Hawaii. <br />2. to purchase tickets to Hawaii so they can stay with me<br />3. for personal items (socks, underwear, feminine supplies, deodorant, toothbrushes, etc)<br />4.  food and drinks<br />5. to help to provide their own needs ( school stuff for Hannah, medicine for Shelby, work stuff for Kayla, Jakob and my mom)<br />6. miscellaneous needs as they arise. until they have a steady income again.<br /><br />As you can imagine the cost of living for 5 extra people will be quite high but desperate times call for desperate measures. Family w/disabilities lost all

After serving in the ADF for 13 years, depression, anxiety and chronic pain are all that I have left. I am now looking down the barrel of an imminent medical discharge, and face the worrying uncertainty of the outside world. My battle with depression and chronic pain has been ongoing for the past 18 months, and it has gotten to the point at which I required hospitalisation. This was due to the fact that I couldn't handle the negative effect it was having on my beautiful wife and kids. My wife has been extremely supportive but there is only so much that someone can take. I really hit rock bottom when I saw that my mood disorder was having a negative impact on my young boys aged 6 and 2. I have made the very difficult decision that I can no longer serve in the defence force and continue to hurt my family emotionally. I have had confirmation that I will be medically discharged. To assist in my transition back into the civilian world, my wife and I started a small business called Project Slick (www.projectslick.com) which utilises my skills in technology and electronics. We create artistic homewares utilising laser cutting and 3D printing. My wife currently attends many markets around the Hobart area and the business is slowly gaining momentum. I am hoping to raise enough money to enable me to develop this project into a full time job, enabling me to spend more time with my supportive family, and win the battle against the daemons in my head. Every little bit helps no matter how small. So please give generously and share this far and wide. If everyone gave a few dollars it would make a huge difference. Thank you.

What makes my family and I different from others? It could be nothing or it could be everything. We live in a world constantly struck with waves of grief and pain and happiness and laughter. We hate complaining because we believe that we are so fortunate and there are people in the World worse off than us but here it goes.<br /><br />Our story; a couple months ago now, just after Christmas, or maybe it was before, It's all kind of been a blur, but our World turned upside down, we found out our father, Gordon has Cancer. <br /><br />Currently Dad is undergoing Chemotherapy and Radiation to reduce the Cancerous Tumor in his head. Due to the proximity near the brain, they can't operate.<br /><br />As a family we try not to ask for much and as this time has dwelled upon us, we are swallowing our pride and asking for help.
