I am raising funds to support my wife, our four sons, and myself as we work to overcome the financial challenges that began during the Covid-19 pandemic. When the pandemic hit, both my wife and I lost our jobs and became homeless, living with her grandmother and our two young sons. I was eligible for unemployment benefits, which helped us secure an apartment after years of instability. However, when those benefits ended, I was left with significant debt from overpayment claims by the government, and I quickly fell behind on rent and bills. This led to an eviction, court-ordered payments to our old apartment complex, and IRS tax debts that have made it nearly impossible to recover.
Over the past four years, we've done everything we can to dig ourselves out of this hole and provide stability for our family. My wife was able to secure an apartment for us with assistance, but now that she has returned to work and the assistance is ending, we can't afford childcare. With four sons—ages 3 months to 7 years old—and no family support, we fear eviction all over again. The funds raised will help us clear debts, including credit cards, secure stable housing, and plan for our family's future. Any donations left over after addressing immediate needs will be used to place us in a longer lease agreement, giving our children the stability they deserve.
A sincere thank you to everyone who takes a moment to share, listen, or help by donating. The message my children will receive is that the world still has good people who care for their neighbors in times of crisis. My wife and I aren't hoping for much—anything to help us gain better traction and stability for our family is greatly appreciated!
