- Nora Jean is a tiny little kitten that came in to our care. When being examined we noticed her eye being very swollen. I placed my fingers softy under her eye to check if her eye was damaged, her eye then ruptured and was full of yellow pus. So immediately she was given metacam for pain relief and was rushed to our vets. She was admitted and put on a drip and was given opioids to control the pain. Throughout all of this Nora Jean was still purring and loving up to me the vet nurse and the vet, she is such a beautiful girl. Yesterday morning Sarah Hunter performed the surgery to remove her eye, we were all a bit worried about the anaesthetic but she was fine the only issue was it took her a while to come around. Once she was up and about I went to collect her and she is currently recovering, she is still extremely affectionate and makes biscuits and we have noticed when she is really happy her tail goes like a toilet brush We understand that with Christmas everyone is likely to be struggling for money but if you’re able to help with a small amount towards Nora Jeans we would be extremely grateful. We rely on donations to keep our rescue doors open and to be able to save cats that need emergency treatment like Nora Jean. Every penny really does help.

An Appeal to help pay for Nora Jeans vet bill
60% complete - My name is Leanne and I am the Owner and Founder of Clay County Cat Care, we are in desperate need of your help, over the last few months we have had to save the lives of 5 very poorly cats, this has come to a massive cost to the rescue. We need your help to pay off this bill and to help keep our rescue open. Like other small rescues we are facing permanent closure if we are unable to keep our funds coming in to pay for vet bills, food, litter and other essential items needed at the rescue. This year alone we have helped over 500 cats and kittens find new loving homes, but we have also taken in cats and kittens that need emergency care and that unfortunately does come at a cost, our vets are amazing and do give us a discount but we still have a massive bill to pay off after saving cats like Phoenix, Tony, Autumn, Simba, Bobo and many others. These cats have all needed to be admitted and given around the clock care by our amazing veterinary treatment. We have also had cats handed in in such a bad way we have tried to save them but unfortunately even with amazing care given they haven’t made it but we still have their bills to pay. We will never turn a cat away, I didn’t open the rescue to turn my back on sick or injured cats or families in such dire need they have to surrender their beloved cats. So please consider donating just £2, that’s the price of a coffee, well in some places it’s less then a price of coffee, we can start by Saving one cat at a time with your help. PLEASE HELP IS KEEP OUR RESCUE OPEN, there are so many cats and kittens in need that if we are forced to close they will have no where to go, all rescues are at break my point with the amount of cats and kittens needing our help. We are also reopening our market stall and we will be doing fundraising event and auctions but right now we really do need your help to save us and the many hundreds of cats and kittens that will be left on the streets. Thank you for reading and continuing to support us. Leanne
