Over the last year together, Regatta and his girl have formed quite the remarkable partnership. We are praying that they can continue making memories. <div>As many of you may have heard my sister Alicia Paxson lost her husband Phil Paxson in a tragic accident. He had two young daughters who are now fatherless. This is an extremely difficult time for them. It happened right after a birthday party they had for their oldest daughter. We are all in shock and disbelief. This was a preventable accident, the bridge he went over at night had a gaping hole and their were no barricades. It had been this way for many years. No one would take responsibility to repair it and now he has to pay the price. Please pray for our family during this most difficult time. Any help is appreciated, we want to gather as a community around her and the kids.

<div>Two longtime members of the equestrian community need your help – Priscilla Riggs and her beloved 28 year old chestnut mare, Suzie Q (“Suzie”).

<div>At one time, Suzie was a very successful jumper and equitation mount. She spent her later years as a lesson horse in Ginny Spooner’s Riding School in Huntington Beach. When Priscilla purchased Suzie in 2008, they both found their perfect companions and soul mates.

<div>Sadly, Priscilla was diagnosed with dementia and has been suffering from the devastating effects of this debilitating disease. It has progressed to the point where Priscilla is no longer able to care for Suzie. The family, unable to afford Suzie's care, considered euthanizing her. They didn't think they had any other options.<br /><br />Since receiving this news, members of the Rancho Sierra Vista Equestrian Center community where Suzie was housed have generously stepped up to make sure that Suzie received the care she needed. <br /><br />The community wants to continue to ensure Suzie will continue to receive the care she needs and deserves on a long-term basis, in honor of her horse mom who cherished her so much! <br /><br />But, they need your help!

The Meader family has taken a blow - a blow in the form of a rapidly progressing neurodegenerative disease. Al’s health is deteriorating weekly, which has barely afforded Melissa and family time to catch their breath and to process their new family reality.<br /><br />In the midst of a home remodel project in October, Al began to have problems with his balance. He assumed it was an inner ear infection but by the middle of November it was clear that it was something more. He was referred to and was finally seen by a neurologist in December, who gave a probable diagnosis of an atypical Parkinsonian disorder called Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) or a prion disease called Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) - a rare, invariably fatal brain disease. Either way the prognosis is devastating to all who love him.<br /><br />Al’s physical limitations have degenerated so quickly that there is an immediate and ongoing need for medical equipment to facilitate his care at home.<br /><br />With the loss of Al’s job at K2, the added financial burden of purchasing heath care, and the unforeseen care costs ahead to keep Al comfortable through this journey, the Meaders have consented to <span style="font-size:1.0625rem;">allow friends and family to help.
