Hello my name is Robert Banks III,
I am a 21 year old 3rd degree black belt in the sport Taekwondo. Taekwondo is my life. I started practicing Taekwondo at the age of 4 years old. Once I turned 7 years old something sparked in me, this feeling of passion and determination that would drive me to reach for the stars. I know anything is possible with God by my side, love and support from both my family and friends, support from my team, and belief in myself. Throughout my career in Taekwondo I have represented the AAU/USA National Team, became a 4 time National Champion, President’s Cup Champion, Multiple State Champion, International medalist in other tournaments, and I recently been awarded the opportunity to be on the Sierra Leone National Team . Since Elementary School I dreamed of one day representing either the Philippine National Team or an African National Team from my African heritage. I am blessed and grateful that, that dream has become a reality. I am a hard working, passionate, grateful, humble, and respectful athlete both inside and outside the ring. I am a full time student, work part-time, and I train Taekwondo full time so money has been an issue where it is hard for me to pay for tournaments. I moved to Charlotte, NC to focus on my Taekwondo career. Everything I ever got or won came from lots of hard work. I am an Olympic hopeful and I am proud to say that I will be representing the Sierra Leone National Team in the upcoming World Championships. Competing in the World Championships is a life long goal of mine. Please help me on my journey to compete internationally representing the Sierra Leone National Team. These tournaments will help me build my World and Olympic ranking to get me get closer to my Olympic Dream. Any donations would help me. I thank you for reading this all the way through. Have a blessed day.
Best regards,
Robert Banks III
