We wanted to provide an update. Brad has had some breathing concerns lately, we are giving him breathing treatments to help. The nurse states his lungs sound dimensioned and he is having some labored breathing at times. We are very thankful to those who have visited and for each of your prayers. Help Retired First Responder Brad Baumgarner help pay for Caregivers as he has just been placed on Urgent Hospice Care. For more than 25 years, Brad Baumgarner answered the call whenever others were in danger. As a dedicated member of the U.S. Coast Guard and a courageous career firefighter, Brad devoted his life to rescuing stranded swimmers/boats, entering burning buildings, and protecting his community on their worst days. Brad has always been known for his kindness, going to the gym, riding his bike daily and supporting others that needed him. Now, this lifelong hero is facing his toughest battle yet—and he needs our help. Brad has been diagnosed with end-stage congestive heart failure and pulmonary edema. He is currently under hospice care at home, requiring continuous, round-the-clock attention. His devoted wife, Rita, is serving as his primary caregiver while working full-time to keep their household afloat and maintain their primary income. Brad cannot safely be left alone, and Rita desperately needs a qualified medical caregiver at home during her working hours to manage Brad’s medications, monitor his intake and provide the dignified care he deserves in his final chapter. Our Goal: Is to cover the direct costs of hiring a professional, in-home medical caregiver. Although the duration and cost of this goal will vary depending on Brad’s health. Every contribution will directly support: Dedicated Medical Care: Securing a skilled caregiver to monitor Brad’s health needs, ensure his comfort, and manage his hospice routine when needed. Rita can’t do this alone. Rita (68) works full time and cares for Brad as well. She is currently missing work and pay and this can’t be sustained. We want to allow a retired public servant to spend his remaining time comfortably at home surrounded by loved ones. Donations: Any amount—whether $10, $50, or $500—makes an immediate difference in securing Brad’s daily care. Current monthly costs for full time help is approximately $3,000 a month.
