<div>NEW UPDATE:
</div>
<div>Gaza Is Starving. The Roks Need Urgent Help.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Since March 2, no humanitarian aid has entered Gaza. No food. No clean water. No fuel. No medical supplies. Gaza has been completely sealed off. Famine is no longer a threat — it is a brutal, unfolding reality.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Markets are empty. Flour is gone. Families line up at charity kitchens, but there’s nothing left to give. Children push forward, hoping for one final scrap of food. People are begging — not for comfort, but for survival.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The Roks are living through the unimaginable — yet they remain kind, polite, and patient. Their commitment to their family and faith is unshakable. Even in the face of starvation, holding on to hope. They just wants their life back — but to get there, they have to survive this first.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you’re able, the Rok family would be deeply grateful if you would consider a small monthly donation — even $5 or $10 a month — just something to take a bit of the weight off their shoulders. Knowing that a little support is coming regularly would mean the world to them. It would allow them to focus on caring for their family without having to constantly push for help in the middle of a crisis.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>They are running out of time. Please help. Please don’t turn away.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>———————
</div>
<div>The Ceasefire Has Ended—Conditions Are Worsening, but Hope Remains
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The brief ceasefire has ended, and the situation in Gaza is once again deteriorating rapidly. With the crossings still closed, no aid trucks are entering, meaning food, medicine, and fuel remain incredibly scarce. Prices for basic necessities have skyrocketed beyond what most families can afford. Canned food is often the only option, providing little nutritional value, and clean drinking water is increasingly difficult to find. Medical care is nearly impossible to access, with hospitals overwhelmed and supplies dwindling.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For Abdul and his family, this has made an already desperate situation even worse. They were forced to flee their home in the middle of the night, leaving behind everything they owned. Now living in a small tent with minimal protection from the elements, they struggle daily to secure food and water. Fuel shortages have driven up transportation costs, making it harder for people to reach markets or medical facilities. The weather is unbearable, and without reliable electricity, even small comforts like fans or charging ports are a luxury few can afford.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On top of these hardships, the violence has escalated again, bringing renewed fear and uncertainty. The constant sounds of bombing and drones overhead make it difficult to rest, and the psychological toll is weighing heavily on everyone, especially children like Aboud. His family has withdrawn, overwhelmed by the never-ending cycle of displacement and loss. Every day is a test of endurance, both physically and emotionally.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Still, they hold onto hope. Despite everything, they continue to push forward, focusing on survival and adapting however they can. But they cannot do it alone. Your support—whether through a donation, sharing their story, or simply keeping them in your thoughts—can make a tangible difference. Every contribution helps provide food, water, and the essentials needed to get through another day. Thank you for standing with them in these unimaginable times.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>——————
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My name is Cas, I’m a concerned US citizen who is raising funds to be transferred to support Abdul Rahman Rok and his family. The Rok family’s story is one of survival, loss, and strength in the face of unthinkable adversity. They were once a family like so many others in Gaza—living simply but full of love and hope. Abdul Rahman, 15, dreamed of going to school, playing with his friends, and building a future free from fear. But war stole those dreams, leaving him and his family fighting to survive.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Before the war, life in Gaza was hard but manageable. Abdul Rahman’s father worked tirelessly to provide for his family, while his mother filled their home with warmth and care. Abdul Rahman and his siblings—Rizq, Farah, Raghad, and little Ahmed—lived as children do: dreaming, learning, and holding on to hopes for better days. But when the bombs began to fall, everything changed.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The relentless bombardment destroyed their home and tore their lives apart. Suddenly, they were no longer a family with a future but refugees in their own land, forced to flee from one place to another.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Their search for safety became a nightmare of displacement—first losing their home, then the tents that offered temporary refuge, driven out each time they tried to settle. With every step, they left behind pieces of their life—precious belongings, family photos, and the sense of security they once had.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Food and water were scarce. They often shared a single meal between seven people. Bathing from buckets in freezing temperatures, they had no way to shield themselves from the heat of summer or the cold of winter. Desperate to survive, they turned to the internet, posting daily pleas for help. With Gaza’s borders sealed and aid blocked, their cries for relief often went unanswered.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Months of unimaginable hardship followed. Finally, a fragile ceasefire has brought a pause to the violence. But this fragile peace does not undo the suffering. The Rok family is left with nothing. They’ve lost loved ones, their home, and the life they once knew. Now, they must begin the impossible task of rebuilding.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The funds needed to start over are far beyond their reach. Shelter, food, and clean water remain daily struggles. Though some aid is beginning to trickle in, it is barely enough to meet the overwhelming need. Abdul Rahman and his siblings still dream of going back to school, sharing a meal together in a home they can call their own, and having a chance to live a normal life again.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is a critical moment for the Rok family. They cannot do this alone. They need your help. Your donation, no matter the size, can provide the building blocks they need to rebuild their home, return to school, and access the care they desperately need.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This isn’t about luxury—it’s about survival and dignity. It’s about giving a family the chance to heal and rebuild after unimaginable loss.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please consider donating to the Rok family’s campaign. Every contribution makes a difference, bringing them closer to safety, stability, and hope for a brighter future.

Support Abdul Rahman Rok's Family in Gaza

<div>Hi, I'm Caroline and I'm fundraising for my friend, Louay Wadi. Please read Louay's request in his own words:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am Louay from Gaza. I am 25 years old. I am originally from Jabalia camp in northern Gaza, but we were displaced to Nuseirat camp in southern Gaza, which is currently a very unsafe place. Our house was damaged by the shelling and we were displaced through the dangerous corridor where the occupation used to live. We have been suffering from siege, shelling, hunger, and lack of water and electricity.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our financial situation is very difficult. I lost my source of income more than 9 months ago. We have no jobs, and we are in desperate need of funds to evacuate Gaza. As you may know, evacuation to Egypt is expensive at a cost of $8,000 per person. I and 6 other family members listed below need to be evacuated:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Ayman Wadi, my father, 53

</div>
<div>Raeda Wadi, my mother, 44

</div>
<div>Abdullah Wadi, my brother, 27

</div>
<div>Saber Wadi, my brother, 22

</div>
<div>Basma Wadi, my sister, 17

</div>
<div>Shahed Wadi, my brother 15
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The evacuation of 7 people will cost a total of $56,000. In addition, leading up to and after our evacuation, we need funds in order to purchase food and afford the basic costs of life. For this, we are setting our target at $82,000. This can be broken down as follows:

</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>$56,000 for evacuation of all 7 family members.

</div>
<div>$4,000 to cover our entire family's needs for food and necessities until we can evacuate.

</div>
<div>$20,000 to house, feed, and clothe everyone once in Egypt, to keep us afloat until we are all able to regain stability as a family.
</div>
<div>$2,000 for administrative fees and transfers
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My brother Uday traveled from Turkey to Greece, risking himself to travel by sea because of the difficult situation in Gaza. Our current situation is very very hard. We suffer from lack of water and electricity. I want to get out of the hell we are living in and survive this genocide. I hope you will find it in your heart to help me and to share this campaign as widely as possible. Every dollar from you will change our lives for the better. Thank you so much.

Fund Louay Wadi's Family's Urgent Evacuation

<div>Hello, my name is Heather. I have been reading over the past year about the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people and the violence in the West Bank and Gaza. I hate being an American citizen knowing the President continues to use our tax dollars to fund Israhells imperialistic violence. The inaction of the American government on ensuring the safety of the hundreds of thousands of innocent lives being taken is an excellent signifier of their plans. Please stand with me to push back against imperialism, violence and Israhell’s twisted regime.

<div>Mohammed and his family are currently located in Gaza and hoping to immigrate to Egypt. This is due to ongoing violence and destruction occurring throughout the area. The campaign funds will be transferred directly to Mohammed's bank account. The goal for this campaign is $56,000; $7,000 per family member to cross the Egyptian border to safety.

</div>
<div>My name is Muhammad and I am 26 years old. I lived with my family in a neighborhood called Al-Rimal in the middle of the Gaza Strip. My older brother, Jamal, and I shared a dream and worked hard together to bring it to reality. We had a women’s clothing line and big dreams to open an exhibition in every province in the country. We worked tirelessly together for 7 years but it was destroyed after the occupation began bombing Gaza. We had a showroom with many pieces in there, it was a space to communicate with our clients our work. It was destroyed, a long with our livelihoods.
</div>

<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is my father's story; His name is Rafi Hamada. He is 52 years old. He is a supporter of my family. He worked in the carpentry profession and made home furniture. He worked in general trade, but due to the war that was launched on Gaza in 2008 and lasted 50 days, my father lost his business with a huge amount because of Israel. However my father was not defeated and continued to work, he knew he had a family he loved and wished to support. He work hard, long days, on his feet and eventually his business is usually stronger than before in 14 years. But again on the 7th of October war, after 50 days of war, we received news of the burning of the wood factory that my father owned. He collapsed after fatigue and loss from before and hard work, it was heartbreaking to see. He was not sleeping because despite his hard work and dedication to craft, the occupation destroyed the money, trade and factories that he owned. For my father, is now my father is unemployed and does not have any money because of the war that befell us and ruined all that my father worked so hard for, all the promises he made about our future were wiped from his hands.

<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is my mother’s story; My mother is 42 years old. My mother is a housewife who has worked hard to raise our growing family since the first day as a mother in her home.❤️ She suffered from heart disease before October 7th, however her condition has worsened due to cooking over the fire and living in a tent after our beautiful house we grew up in was demolished. She is the anchor for our family, it is due to her we have so many warm and happy memories. My mother is a woman who fought for her children since childhood, she encouraged us to work hard, be patient, and diligent in educational because she is a patient, kind and caring mother and she understands the value of love and knowledge.
</div>
<div><br />

<div><br />
</div><img alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/82777081_1726350885269201_r." width="100%" />
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is my older brother’s story; His name is Jamal Al-Kabeer, and he is 28 years old. Before the 7th of October, my brother met us on Friday when our family gathers and shared the news that he has been engaged. He was so happy and hopeful, he had just finished his studies at the university in the College of Public Relations and was about to marry a beautiful women and start their future family together. Now his plans have been spoiled, his engagement is off and his future snatched away. He’s in the worst conditions our family has ever seen him in all the time before the October 7th attack.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div><img alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/82777081_1726350940446033_r." width="100%" />
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is my sister’s stories; my sister Diana is 28 years old and Faryal is 22 years old. They have finished their studies at the university. Diana is an English language teacher and Faryal is an Arabic language teacher. They had started an educational center together a year before the occupation started bombing Gaza. They had no students to start and grew to how 150 students in one year of being open. Their work was free because it’s not frequent to come by. They worked as hard as they could, inspired by our mother to continue brining free knowledge to the children. The education center wad demolished by the occupation and half of their students have been martyred. Their hearts ache for the lives lost and their inability to continue reaching the lives of children everyday.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is my younger brother’s story; my brother Hashem is 5 years old. May God bless you, my brother Hashem, a young boy who is afraid of missiles and constant bombing. He lost his kindergarten due to the war and now suffers from fear. He asks us every day when the war will end, and we do not know how to respond to him because we do not have credible news. One day, I pray he returns to kindergarten. It will be enough for him to continue.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>After we were displaced from our home in northern Gaza to southern Gaza, we were displaced 7 times from one area to another. The occupation highlights a new safe zone, we move because we know the next area will be bombed. We have relocated over and over following instructions from the occupation and still they bomb us. We are now waiting for the Egyptian border, hoping it will open so that we can get out to safety. However there is a high cost to migrate, $7,000 to the Egyptian government per person, no matter the age. In total this would be $56,000 for all 8 people in my family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But I, Mohammed, appeal to you, I call upon you to save my family from war, genocide, displacement and famine from Israel. We love you, free peoples. You have helped save the lives of 8 people in my family and donated to them, and we thank every donor for supporting organization!

<div>Hello, I am Siraj Mohammad from northern Gaza, a graduate of the Bachelor of Law. My dream was to complete my remaining studies, such as a master’s degree and a doctorate, in order to obtain a distinguished job in this field, but due to the war, this dream was destroyed, my house was destroyed, and life became not suitable for anything, neither for knowledge nor for living, and my daily routine became filling water. I collect firewood and I want to leave northern Gaza to help my family and complete my academic and professional life. Please help me

</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hi friends,
</div>
<div>Unfortunately the repairs to our fire damaged apartment have taken longer than expected. As a result we have had to extend our temporary housing, and on top of that, we had an unexpected (and expensive) dental emergency arise while without dental insurance.
</div>
<div>My dentist said my dental issue was likely caused by the extreme increase in stress caused by our situation.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We would never have made it through the first couple months of this without everyone’s support. If anyone has the ability to help us out with anything additional it would mean a lot.
</div>
<div><br />

<div>Love you all, thank you, and please share!

</div>
<div>Hi everyone,
</div>
<div>Our names are Cas and Nasser and we are seeking support after a devastating fire in the building next door severely damaged our apartment and belongings.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Unfortunately, we did not have renter’s insurance at the time of the incident, so we are raising funds to help replace the items in our home that are unsalvageable due to smoke, fire, and water damage.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We also need assistance to help cover vet bills for our two cats, Zeke and Teddy, who required testing for respiratory issues and toxicity due to being exposed to smoke and carbon monoxide. Thankfully, so far they both seem to have come through it unharmed.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We can’t begin to explain how much we appreciate the love and kindness of everyone who has reached out.
</div>
<div>Even if you have no ability to donate, if you can share this, that goes a long way!
</div>

<div>Thank you so much for your support! ♥️

Help Nasser and Cas rebuild after a fire

<div>Three years ago, at the age of 41, Phoebe Search received a diagnosis of Stage 4 breast cancer. Years of mainstream, alternative and experimental treatments with varying success followed her initial diagnosis. Throughout her treatment, her spirit never wavered. However, on October 7, Phoebe left this world and crossed over the rainbow to join her firstborn son, Rafa. She left behind her husband, Juan, her 11-year-old twins, Luca and Xavier, and many individuals who loved her and whose lives were better for having known her. She also left behind her small childhood nuclear family: her younger brother, Jim, and her beloved mother, Sherrie Lee.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Sherrie Lee has struggled with age-onset dementia for several years. However, within the last year, her condition deteriorated until it was no longer possible to leave her at home unsupervised for any length of time. Phoebe was Sherrie's guardian until the time of her death. With Sherrie confined to a home, Jim is working through legal channels to transfer Sherrie's fixed monthly income, guardianship, and medical power of attorney into his name and take over the responsibility of managing his mother's care.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>While sifting through bills, it was determined that substantial outstanding expenses weren't covered over the past few months. Given the tragic and sudden circumstances surrounding this transfer of guardianship, Jim hasn't been able to prepare financially for the expense. It will be several months before the legal proceedings conclude, and he has access to Sherrie's monthly income, which won't cover most of the outstanding medical or legal expenses. Please consider helping defray the costs related to Jim's transfer of his mother's legal, financial, and medical care.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On a personal note, this family is incredibly special to me. Phoebe and I taught together the year I was pregnant with my daughter. Her mother retired from teaching that year, moved from Binghamton to NYC, and moved in with Phoebe in Brooklyn to be closer to her children. I recall a visit to our classroom where Sherrie pointed to my growing belly and stated, as though it were a foregone conclusion, "When you go back to work after your maternity leave, I am taking care of your baby." And so it was. Sherrie cared for my tiny children for about five years. She, Phoebe, Jim, Juan, Luca and Xavier are all imprinted on my heart. Please consider helping them weather yet another financial hardship related to the tragic passing of my dear friend.

(Trigger warning: physical violence/assault. If you cannot proceed in reading the details for your mental health, please know that a beloved member of the comedy community, Isaiah Lorenzo, has sustained serious injuries and is in need of financial assistance. Please donate.) <br /><br /><br /><br />Dear friends, family, and members of the comedy community who we have yet to meet:<br /><br /><br />Recently, our dear friend, beloved comedian Isaiah Lorenzo, was attacked and viciously assaulted right in front of me (Betsy). <br /><br /><br />As people hung out and prepared to head home after a comedy show, the assaulter suddenly approached Isaiah as he was sitting down just hanging out, apropos of nothing. After a brief moment of an exchange in which the assaulter angrily tried to instigate an argument with Isaiah, who simply deflected the harsh words in an attempt to dismiss the hostility, he held Isaiah down on the couch with one hand while he brutally attacked his face and head repeatedly as Isaiah tried to escape, totally shocked and taken unaware and totally defenseless against this unprovoked attack from a much larger and more physically powerful person. The attacker focused his violent efforts on Isaiah’s left eye, which friends of Isaiah may already be aware has issues as is. (His endearingly named “googly eye”.)  <br /><br />I am going to be forever traumatized simply from witnessing the attack and the ensuing damage to our friend, particularly his eye. Isaiah was left in a shocking and gruesome state.  <br /><br /><br />Isaiah was rushed to the hospital, as his eye and vision hung in the balance and he wondered if his eye had already come unattached. <br /><br /><br />An overnight in the ER (not covered by insurance of course) was also required, as well as an urgent transmission to a specialist the next morning. Several follow up visits will also be required. The end result financially will be a colossal amount of medical debt, not yet known. On top of the debt, Isaiah’s ability to work has been compromised for who knows how long. <br /><br /><br />In terms of the future of Isaiah’s eye / vision, we hope and pray for the best but Isaiah’s retina (which as mentioned before was already in a compromised state) could still come unattached at any point. He may end up with a significant loss of vision.<br /><br /><br />On top of the physical damage and medical debt that has already been inflicted on Isaiah, the emotional trauma that Isaiah faces will be an ongoing battle and I really hope we can all rally around him to financially help him as he seeks mental health care. <br /><br /><br />This happened after a comedy show, which Isaiah attended in pursuit of his dreams and career. It was totally unprovoked, and the assailant is someone totally unknown to Isaiah, whom he had only met in passing that fateful night. <br /><br /><br />This could have happened to any of us, especially if it could happen to our sweet charming, gentle, peaceful and beloved friend Isaiah. <br /><br /><br />Consider doing whatever you can to help us reach our financial goal, which very well may not even cover the debt Isaiah is being crushed by.<br /><br /><br />Please donate whatever you can, and please, please share. Please send directly to anyone you think might be able to donate. And, of course, please join us in supporting our friend emotionally as he navigates this horrific journey to recovery. <br /><br /><br />Love, <br /><br />Isaiah’s friends and fellow comedians,<br /><br />Betsy Carroll (instagram @betsycarroll)<br /><br />Leclerc Andre (instagram @leclercandre)<br /><br />Napoleon Emil (instagram @napoleonemill)<br /><br />Reg Thomas (instagram @regthomas)<br /><br /><br /><br />Isaiah’s instagram is @flysaiah)<br /><br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/53497712_1611700410349580_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" alt="53497712_1611700410349580_r.jpeg" />

Isaiah Lorenzo's Assault Recovery

I want to preface this by saying my dad is someone who never asks for help.  This is hard for me to share because I am just like my dad. We don't like to ask for help. We don't like to burden people. We don't like to admit our weaknesses.<br /><br />My dad was diagnosed with bladder cancer earlier this year. At that time, they also discovered his liver was in really bad shape. The only reason I know this is because I obtained a copy of my dad's medical records and went through it all. He never told us the extent because again, my dad doesn't like to burden people. <strong>This is the reason for this campaign.</strong> <strong>My dad is now in liver failure.</strong> He was admitted to the hospital a few weeks ago because, after checking himself into rehab for alcoholism, they said he was too sick. When I went to visit him in the ICU I had to double check I had the right room. He was in awful shape. He wasn't conscious and hadn't been all day. The doctor was not confident his condition would improve at all.  She told us there is a 60% chance he will be gone within 90 days. That is the reality we are dealing with. Thankfully, he regained consciousness, and in a few days was stable enough to be moved out of the ICU and then discharged home. He joked to me that they threw him out as soon as they could. <br /><br />Among the tens of thousands he already owes in medical bills, there is now the cost of his ongoing care.<strong> It is an urgent necessity.</strong> His insurance is BlueCross BlueShield and they do not cover any post-hospital therapy or rehab. His doctor confided in me that his insurance sucks and he did all he could do to get them to help my dad. This is our country's healthcare system. Where doctors, who should be focused on the medical care of their patients, are forced to deal with the administrative nightmare of providing that care. My dad is 64. A year away from when Social Security would fully kick in. <br /><br />My dad is a veteran who, all my life, got up between 4-5 in the morning and went to work. He also was my coach in just about every sport I played. He was always a functioning alcoholic until life just got too tough to maintain the functioning part. On top of this, there is my mom. When I originally came back up north to help my family it was because of her health. She is still recovering from a blood clot, has neuropathy, and needs a cane or wheelchair to get around. She was in and out of critical care over the last year. She herself has three nurses who come in to help her weekly. She is 71 and thankfully receives social security benefits. My mom is also an alcoholic who still drinks. <br /><br />Alcoholism runs in my family on both sides. And it's a shameful disease. It lives off of silence, off the shame of supposedly "not being able to control your impulses". But it IS a disease, like any other. It rips you apart and takes away all of the parts of yourself that you once enjoyed. You hide it, you deny its' power. Even in this moment I feel gross writing this, exposing my family in this way. But I have found for something to lose it's power, it needs to be exposed. Brought into the light. So I am trying. <br /><br />My dad has tried time and time again to go to rehab. It never sticks. My dad and mom feed off each other, enabling the disease. It's hard, but I try not to blame them. If you are a child of alcoholism you understand this struggle. Looking back, I know my dad has been depressed for a long time without seeking help. He's from Dorchester and has a blue-collar attitude. Shake it off, bite the bullet, keep working and you can overcome.  <br /><br />On top of medical bills, there is the mortgage. The bills to keep the heat and electricity on in the house. Despite both of them working ALL of their lives, they could never catch up.  My dad literally worked up until the moment he physically could not. His job for the last few years has been doing maintenance at a Veteran's facility. Very physical work. All while his body was shutting down. I truly cannot express how angry I am with our country. It has failed my parents so fully it breaks my heart. <br /><br />I am not under the impression that my dad will ever recover. I know the reality. What I am hoping for is that he can live as long as possible as comfortably as possible. <br /><br />I know the goal of this campaign is a lot of freaking money. I know that and I don't expect to reach the goal. But honestly, it's not even half of the money my parents need. So if you have anything at all to give I appreciate it. If you don't, that's okay, because I know the struggle. It's such a difficult time for so many of us and it feels like we are all alone on an island with no help in sight. But  I just keep forcing myself to remember we are not alone. <br /><br />Thanks for listening.

Medical Help for My Dad

<br />Since 1993, Punjabi Deli has been an iconic Lower East Side gem. They've been there for us and it's time we show up for them... Help support Punjabi during this hard time! All proceeds will go directly to them. SAVE PUNJABI.<br /><br />Per a recent Gothamist article -  there's been an  "overall decline of cabbies in the ride-share era, a group which constituted a significant portion of Singh's regulars. And then COVID hit, and for the first time in more than 25 years of round-the-clock service, Singh was forced to close his doors. Those doors didn't just shut for a few days, or even weeks. Singh shuttered Punjabi Deli for nearly four months, only reopening in mid July after the pandemic seemed more under control in the city, and his staff felt safe working together again in a small, indoor space."<br />"It would really suck to lose Punjabi Deli, to Covid or anything else. Consider this a rallying cry for all of us to get out there as much possible and support the city's vital small businesses.<br /><br />Punjabi Deli is located at 114 East First Street, just north of Houston, and is currently open daily from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m."

Save New York's beloved Punjabi Deli!

<div>It’s time we acknowledge our essential workers on the field and in the farms. As they supply our food every day and go unnoticed in the dark smoke. The conditions these workers are in are unacceptable considering the pandemic the heat and now the fire smoke. But regardless of the conditions they show up every day for us. So it’s time to show up for them. When we went out there to ask them what we could help with their first response was they needed basic school supplies for their children. We were shook by this response, how is it that our essential workers don’t have enough money for basic educational supplies as we enter a school year of distance learning. These farm workers are more concerned about the school year coming up as they can’t be there for there children because they are at work feeding the nation. But for people that care so much about others, who is going to care about them? WE ARE. If this system doesn’t care, WE DO. And if we have to stand as a community to make a difference where it counts, WE WILL. You see even if these farm workers prefer the funds go to their childrens education, we still need these workers to be protected. We need to protect our farm field workers. We have gotten news that some of these employers are not supplying their workers with protective working equipment as they continue working in this hazardous smoke from the nearby fires. More than ever we need to stand up for those serving our community. Migrant workers should receive higher wages and better working conditions as they are essential.

<div>This fundraiser was created by Flor Martinez, an immigrant rights activists who herself worked as a farm worker before she qualified for DACA.
</div>
<div>Flor has multiple contacts in the agricultural community and is able to direct these funds directly to farm supervisors by transportation vehicles to the farm sites and have distribution by volunteers.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Funds will be withdrawn into the non-profit The Celebration Foundation.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Your donation helps us do more than just buy masks and buy school supplies. It ensures that farm workers and students in our community start the school year with dignity and the tools they need to succeed. The funds raised will be used not only to purchase essential items, but also to cover the operational costs that make this distribution possible. That includes the logistics of organizing community distribution events, transportation, staffing, and volunteer support.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In addition, we receive generous in-kind donations, and your contribution helps us sort, store, and distribute these items responsibly and equitably to families. Putting on these events takes time, resources, and coordination, and your support helps us make sure everything runs smoothly, from the moment supplies arrive to the moment they’re placed in a someone's hands.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The people benefiting from this fundraiser is farmworkers and farm workers children, Flor is able to distribute supplies directly to her wide set of contacts who trust her enough to show up to these farms and fields.

We believe in an abundant world that can be freed of oppression through community solidarity.

<div>When you donate to MALAN your funds go toward…
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Hygiene Hello!: </strong>We’re always on the hunt for free hygiene supplies (shampoo, sunscreen, personal care wipes, nail files, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.), donated by a company, your favorite dentist or your neighbor who travels a lot and never uses the hotel freebies. What we can’t source for free, we purchase. We do this until we have enough supply to hold a Hygiene Hello! Kit Build where we assemble over 200 hygiene kits to go out to unhoused folks throughout Los Angeles county. Builds occur every ~6 weeks.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Supplies for Unhoused Neighbors: </strong>This group isn’t based in just one neighborhood, so between those of us that live in The Valley and those of us that live in Palms or Echo Park, we cover a lot of ground. Many of us engage in consistent outreach to our unhoused neighbors, which often means distributing food, clothing, socks and shoes and supplies like tents, tarps, towels, blankets and pillows, most of which we source for free. Similar to the hygiene kits, we purchase what we aren’t able to source and funds raised here go toward that.
</div>
<div><br />

<div><a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cl4uOuHggs6/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>Produce in the Park</strong></a>: A weekly food distribution event where rescued produce goes out to members of the community of University Park near USC and to community fridges throughout Los Angeles. This is a low-cost operation but money is needed for water and sometimes for clear produce bags.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Redi$tribution to other Mutual Aid Groups:</strong> We are constantly learning about, collaborating with and developing relationships with so many amazing groups doing vital, life-affirming work throughout the county and we love to share any wealth that comes in so that comrades all over LA can keep caring for their communities. We are a network after all!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Direct Cash Aid:</strong> Nobody knows an individual’s needs/wants better than that individual. So in a world that makes accessing money incredibly difficult for members of communities marginalized by race, class, gender, and/or immigration status, amongst other identities, we believe in the importance of giving cash straight up, no strings attached.
