Hello, I am desperately looking for help with my dog Nova. I plan to use any money donated to go towards professional behavioral modification training. I had a consultation with them today and because she experiences severe stacked aggression, this training would cost approximately $6500 and last 6-8 weeks minimum. Without this training, she will have to be put down. Here is her backstory: I rescued her from the pound back in October of 2024. She is a two-year-old Plott Hound that has an issue with aggression. She resource guards her bones, bed, food, and sometimes toys. She also gets aggressive when startled, such as when she’s sleeping and hears noise or is bumped. She behaves great for bathing/drying, but she does become aggressive for nail trims. In general, she gets along with cats and other dogs. She can share a water bowl, sometimes toys. The problem is “sometimes.” When she doesn’t, it goes from zero to one hundred very fast. She is so smart that she has the potential to learn. Unfortunately, I have five cats that were around longer than her, and it’s not fair to them or myself to constantly be on edge. A few nights ago, I was sent to the emergency room after she bit me, and I had animal control pick her up. The county I live in told me if I surrender her, she will be immediately put down due to their policies. Luckily, I have found an adopter that fits her needs, under the condition that she can receive professional training for her aggression. I appreciate any donations towards Nova’s training as it is what is saving her life and giving my best friend another chance at a great life she deserves. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
