Hello dear friends, I created this fundraiser after recently being involved in a car accident that completely turned my world upside down. My driver’s side was hit by another vehicle, and while I’m deeply grateful that everyone is safe, my body took a significant impact. I’m currently navigating medical appointments. However, my focus is solely on getting a car ASAP. Losing my fully paid-off SUV so suddenly has been incredibly overwhelming, especially while also facing unexpected medical bills (for doctor visits, imaging, ongoing care, and more). It’s been a lot to process all at once and a lot to navigate while my body is still healing and recovering. At the end of my post-accident evaluation the doctor informed me that things will likely get worse before they get better so I'm trying to mentally prepare and plan ahead as much as possible. My car wasn’t just a convenience, it was an essential part of my life & was symbolically a beautiful slice of peace and pride (bc I worked extremely hard to get it paid off in record time). I relied on my car for work (seven days a week for my two fully on-site jobs), family responsibilities, groceries, caring for my corgi, errands, and all the little things in between. While insurance will likely be helpful to some degree, it simply will not be enough to replace a safe, reliable vehicle in today's automotive market. I’m raising funds to help bridge that gap, specifically to help with: *The portion of a replacement vehicle not covered by insurance *Registration, taxes, and other fees or miscellaneous associated expenses *Ensuring the replacement is safe and dependable long term My hope is to get to return to work as soon as possible before my PTO runs out and before seasonal overtime opportunities come to an end. Without reliable transportation, I can't pull it off because both of my jobs are fully on-site (& renting in the meantime is not feasible nor part of my insurance unfortunately). Thus, any contribution, no matter the amount, would mean very very much and will go directly toward helping me regain a sense of stability, independence, and peace of mind after this very unexpected and financially challenging obstacle. Again, I want to emphasize this fundraiser is not about anything fancy, it is simply about restoring basic, safe transportation and returning to a desperately needed level of normalcy & greater peace of mind after a sudden loss. I am sure everyone has a lot going on and if donating isn’t possible or comfortable for you at this time for any reason, sharing this fundraiser and spreading the word is just as appreciated (immensely!) and truly helps more than you know!
