Autism Support Allies

Hi, I’m Melinda, and I created Autism Support Allies with one simple goal — to make the world feel safer, kinder, and more inclusive for autistic individuals and families who often feel overlooked, overwhelmed, or excluded. As someone who has seen firsthand how difficult everyday environments and public events can be for people with sensory needs, I knew something had to change. Too many families avoid weddings, festivals, parties, community events, and even simple days out because there are no safe spaces available when things become too overwhelming. That’s why I started creating sensory tents and calming spaces designed to help individuals self-regulate, recharge, and feel safe without judgment. These spaces provide comfort, peace, and understanding in moments that can otherwise feel impossible. Watching someone finally relax, smile, or simply feel accepted for who they are is the reason I keep fighting for this mission every single day. Autism Support Allies is completely self-funded, and every single thing we do comes from the heart. We are not a big organisation with huge funding behind us — I am just trying to make a real difference in the lives of others. Any donation, no matter how big or small, would mean the world to us and to the families we support. The funds raised will help us continue building inclusive sensory spaces for events, weddings, community days, and other environments where support is desperately needed. We also have a field where we host open days and invite special guests so families can come together in a safe, accepting environment where nobody feels different or left behind. The community days include sensory-friendly music festivals, Makaton tutoring, guided walks, arts and crafts, wellbeing sessions, and hair and beauty experiences designed for those who may struggle in traditional environments. With peaceful open fields and nearby camping, families can relax, connect, and enjoy safe, supportive experiences where everyone is welcomed, accepted, and free to be themselves. It’s about giving families the chance to attend events without fear or anxiety. It’s about showing autistic individuals that they belong in this world just as much as anyone else.
