This was the house where they built over a decade of memories, and it was the heart of our family. The fire, along with the water damage from putting it out, has left them unable to retrieve any of their belongings. Because of an ongoing investigation, they can't even return to see what might be saved. Everything—from the way they earned a living to the most cherished keepsakes they've worked so hard for—is gone.

Faith in Action: Help Restore Impact Center Providence!

<div>Hi, my name is Bruce Allen and I am looking for support for an employee of mine and dear friend of mine and many others!  Katrina, at a very young 46 years old, suffered an aneurysm on the night of December 4th.  She started experiencing extreme headaches and body pain that evening.  She tried to wait it out but the symptoms became so overbearing she called a friend to drive her to the closest hospital.  After evaluation, it was discovered that she was having an aneurysm.  She was immediately life-flighted to a higher-class trauma hospital in Uptown Charlotte on that Sunday night.  Monday afternoon she underwent a craniotomy.  During the procedure, they discovered a second aneurysm.  Katrina has been in Neuro ICU since December 4th.  She has been experiencing severe pressure in her head and ongoing Vasospasms.  While out of work from both of her jobs, the medical bills and personal bills continue to grow and accumulate.  She is loved by many and has a great circle of friends and loved ones.

<div>Katrina is the Program Supervisor at the Children's Home Society of North Carolina and travels the state of North Carolina ensuring the well-being of less fortunate children.  She is also a beertender at The Casual Pint which initially provided funds to get her children through college and when that is complete she was going to use that job to fund her love of travel.  She has been with me since day one and is revered by many and loved by all of her coworkers and customers!!!  Katrina is a wonderful mother that has raised two very bright and athletic kids whom I sure miss their mom terribly!

<div>My name is George Figueroa. I currently reside in Phoenix, AZ. I spent a greater part of my youth in Puerto Rico. This fund is a relief effort for the people of Puerto Rico. Most of my family lives in Puerto Rico ( Naranjito, Carolina and Corozal) and they have suffered through Irma and Maria. This fund will provide the items necessary for survival not only for my family but also for neighboring communities as Puerto Rico recovers from the hurricanes. Power is expected to be out for months. We want to send generators, charcoal for cooking, griddles, cast iron cookware, mosquito nets, repellant, socks, underwear, and other necessities. Funding will be used to purchase these items and ship them. Shipping heavy items to Puerto Rico is very expensive. A trip is planned in October for assistance with recovery and distribution of items and assessment of needs for the community.

Así como en muchos otros lugares tienen sus cambios atmosfericos , terremotos, tornados, nevadas, ect, nuestra área ha sido fuerte con el batir de las olas, como una etapa más debemos tomarlo nosotros y aprendizaje a mantenernos siempre suplidos con los artículos de primera necesidad. Las consecuencias que traerá si elpronóstico no cambia, no deben ser mortales, y esperemos que nadie se exponga pues llevamos días siendo advertidos para tomar medidas. Las consecuencias materiales sí serán una realidad y más que todo alteración o cambios a nuestro diario vivir. Post Hurricane Relief- Puerto Rico

<div>It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of not only a dearly loved family member, but a beloved spark in the lives of many. On Saturday, August 6th, 2022, in the afternoon, Ka Xiong was struck by a moving vehicle while crossing the street. She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and endured her final breaths on a life support survival line, and with severe internal brain bleeding amongst other complications. Her immediate family was not notified until later in the evening of the incident and was then finally able to attend to her bedside at the hospital. She passed away the next day on Sunday, August 7th, 2022 at 9:14am.

<div>Ka played many important roles in the lives of many. She was the energetic aunty, cheerful sister, beloved mother, cherished daughter, loving companion, and so much more. She loved things like gardening, watching movies, and Hmong paj ntaub. Simple things were all it took to make her day. Her heart for her work, and the things that mattered to her was larger than life itself.

<div>Though Ka lived a tough life, she lived with love, perseverance, and faith. She remained steadfast through any obstacles that presented itself to her, and she fought to her very last breath. She independently worked hard on her day-to-day activities, and she did what she loved. She loved the Lord, and always made it a priority to attend church services every Sunday.

<div>Our hearts are shattered, as we never thought we would lose her so soon, and in such a tragic way. The family is trying to pick up the pieces with this whole situation and all the legal things that come with it, while attempting to prepare for her upcoming funeral to lay her to rest.

<div>We are aware there may be people who are unable to attend the upcoming funeral but may want to contribute financially instead. We hope this funding page can help in that. The money given from this page will strictly go to funeral help costs. Anything little helps and will go a long way.

<p class="MsoNormal">During Spring Break 2013 (March 14 - March 29, 2013), my school will continue a 17-year old tradition of foreign exchange with its prestigious and bilingual sister school in Argentina, "Academia Arguello". &nbsp;I've been taking honors Spanish for the last two years and was the only freshman selected to attend the trip, usually reserved for upperclassman. By attending school and living with a family in Argentina's 2nd largest city, Cordoba, I will practice my language skills and actively participate in the local culture and academic life of my host. &nbsp;The Poly Ambassadors will begin our two week journey in metropolitan Buenos Aires. &nbsp;Next, we will explore the country's natural wonders, such as Argentina's Patagonia which has a glacier and rarely seen landscapes. &nbsp;Finally, we will head to Cordoba for our one-week stay with our host families and daily attendance at Academic Arguello.&nbsp; My family will also be hosting an Argentinian student in the Fall of 2013. &nbsp;</p>
