I am facing a difficult situation with cataracts in both eyes. My vision has become increasingly blurry and foggy, making everyday tasks more challenging. The glasses I have been prescribed help with distance, but close-up vision remains a struggle, especially in my right eye. Unfortunately, my insurance does not cover cataract surgery, and I am left to pay for the procedure out of pocket.

 The cost is more than I can afford right now, even though I have managed to save some funds. Having the surgery would mean regaining clear vision and being able to enjoy daily activities without the constant frustration of poor eyesight. It would make a huge difference in my quality of life.

 Any amount would be greatly appreciated, but I know things are tight for a lot of people. This is not easy for me to ask of others, but I am out of options. Your support would mean the world to me and help me take the next step toward restoring my vision.

<div>This past Sunday, we met Will and Betty— a mother and son who have been living in their car for over eight years. We had the chance to hear their story and spend about an hour with them. In that short time, their humility, kindness and gratitude gave me a new perspective.

<div><strong>Recovery for Rin</strong>

<div>Rin was diagnosed at 9 months old with Astrocytoma -a a malignant tumor on the  brain stem &amp; spine. She underwent chemo for almost a year, however on May 1, 2024 she required emergency surgery to remove 90% of the tumor, all doctors were able to get. 
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Surgery went well but left Rin with paralysis &amp; weakness in all of her extremities. She is completely unable to use her arms or hands. She will require months &amp; months of inpatient rehabilitation to hopefully get her back to walking &amp; playing like she was before surgery. She will also be starting chemo again to battle what’s left, when doctors believe she is strong enough to handle it.

<div>We are asking for help so that her parents &amp; family are able to care &amp; stay with Rin while she remains in the hospital. Any help is greatly appreciated, we love our sweet girl &amp; just want her to be the best she can be. That is only possible with everyone’s help! This girl is amazing, happy, and so so loved! She is truly a miracle child!

Support Rin's Journey to Recovery

<div>Almost anyone who knew my dad knew me or at least of me, my name is Brittany Hickman, I am Tim’s daughter. Yesterday, on March 16th, my dad collapsed while working and passed away very unexpectedly. Death is never easy, even when you feel prepared for it, but this being so sudden and unexpected has hit myself and our family especially hard. Like us, my father had also not prepared for something like this to happen so soon and did not have any arrangements in place as far as financially for his passing. I know my dad had a lot of friends and people who spoke so highly of him that have reached out expressing their condolences and asking how they can help and this is something we will need help with in the upcoming days. We have not made any official funeral arrangements yet but those will be communicated as soon as they are planned. From the bottom of heart, I appreciate any help that anyone has to offer. My dad loved and was loved by so many and I know that he will be missed greatly!
