What they care about

Wife & proud cat mom. I love hard, care deeply & believe kindness matters. Life can be freaking hard, and sometimes we all need a little help. 💛

Day 2 of our GoFundMe - An Unexpected Twist First, Todd and I want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated, shared our fundraiser, reached out, or simply kept Todd and I in your thoughts. We are truly grateful for every bit of love and support… We also found out today that our health benefits are ending tomorrow, rather than at the end of the month like we originally thought and planned for. That was a pretty big and unexpected blow. Both of us take MULTIPLE necessary medications, and we also have important medical appointments already scheduled throughout this month. Because we thought we had coverage through the end of September, we intentionally crammed as many appointments as we could into the rest of this month to make sure we could get the care we need while we still had insurance. So unfortunately, the timing has made an already difficult financial situation even more urgent. We’re trying to prepare for everyday expenses, medical costs, medications, and figuring out what comes next with our health coverage — all at the same time. If you’re able to donate, please consider helping us today. Even $5, $10, or $20 makes a difference and truly adds up. If you’ve already donated, sharing our GoFundMe is an enormous help too. You never know who might see it and be able to contribute. We don’t ask for help lightly, and we’re doing everything we can on our end. We just need a little help getting through this unexpected stretch. Thank you to everyone who has already shown up for us. We appreciate it more than you know. ❤️ If you can help, please donate or share our GoFundMe.
Hi, I’m Emily (as some of you already know), and my husband, Todd, and I could really use a little help… Sometimes life has a way of piling things on all at once. I recently lost my job, and while Todd and I are doing everything we can to keep moving forward, the sudden loss of income has put us in a position we simply weren’t prepared for. We’re not completely without resources, and we’re not asking anyone to fix our lives for us. But we are at a point where we could genuinely use some help getting through the months ahead. Along with our everyday household expenses—housing, utilities, groceries, transportation, insurance, and other necessities—we are also facing ongoing medical expenses that we can’t simply put on hold. When you’re already trying to manage the emotional weight of losing your job, having to worry about whether you can afford the next bill or necessary medical expense can become overwhelming very quickly. I’m actively working toward finding another job and getting us back to a place where we can support ourselves comfortably again. But finding the right opportunity takes time, and unfortunately, our bills don’t stop while we wait. Asking for help is difficult, especially when you’re used to being the person who handles things yourself. It’s even harder when you’ve had to ask for help before. But I’ve learned that there are times when accepting a helping hand isn’t a failure—it’s simply allowing the people who care about you to help you through a difficult season. Our goal is to give us some breathing room while I work toward getting back on my feet—to keep the lights on, food on the table, the household running, and necessary medical care accessible without constantly wondering which expense has to wait. If you’re able to donate, no amount is too small. A $10 or $20 donation may seem small, but when enough people come together, those small acts of kindness can make an enormous difference. And if you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser with others is just as meaningful to us. We know everyone has their own struggles and responsibilities, which makes every bit of support feel even more meaningful. Whether you donate, share our fundraiser, send a kind message, or simply keep us in your thoughts, please know that we are incredibly grateful. We’re just trying to get through a difficult chapter, find our footing again, and come out on the other side stronger. Thank you for helping us get there. ❤️
