<div>My name is Marg and I am Miss Pickles mom. After 1.5 months of weird symptoms Miss P had a big seizure on June 23. On June 25 we got the scariest news that any pet parent can get "Your dog has a brain tumour". Specifically the type of tumour Miss P has is a glioma and with radiation treatment we were given another 1.5 years with her but without treatment the prognosis is only 3 months. Miss P has her whole body CT scanned during this appointment and it showed only the tumour being inside her little sweet head.

<div>Miss P is our heart dog and we would do anything for her and we opted to do radiation as we know its not her time to go. However, we encountered an obstacle in Ontario, as the waitlist to see a radiation specialist in Guelph is 3 months, which is unacceptable given the urgency of the situation. As a result, we have made the decision to seek treatment in the USA.

<div>We reached out to approximately 20 radiation centers across the USA, and we finally received a response from California Veterinary Specialists. They have offered to take us as early as July 15th for 3-5 days of radiation. Some people may be surprised by our decision to travel such a long distance, but we have been advised that time is of the essence when dealing with a brain tumor, and treatment needs to begin as soon as possible. We are willing to go the extra mile for our girl because she deserves it.

<div>I hate asking for help, but this year has been financially challenging for us. In February, Miss P aspirated during a physiotherapy appointment, and we spent two months going in and out of Vet clinics until she was finally cleared on May 3rd. I am also not working a lot as I am in my final year of nurse practitioner school where it entails me doing 800 hours of clinical hours which I am not paid for.

<div>The cost of the radiation treatment has been quoted at a minimum of $11,000 USD. Being from Canada, our Canadian dollar is not in a strong position, which further adds to the financial burden. Additionally, we will be flying from Toronto and staying in Carlsbad, California for approximately a week, resulting in additional expenses.

Miss Pickles' Brain Tumor Radiation Fund

<div>Hi, my name is Dominique. My little brother Mikey has been diagnosed with Sarcoma which is a soft tissue childhood cancer. We were told that he currently has 3 large masses, one by his aorta, one by his liver &amp; the last and most invasive one which is in his pelvis. We still haven't gotten his full biopsy result back yet, so we’re still unsure of the stage &amp; specific kind of sarcoma that he has. As of now, we have been told that this cancer is inoperable &amp; only treatable with chemo therapy. His doctors anticipate his treatments to last between 1-2 years.

<div>Mikey has been the brightest light since he entered our family. We found out that Mikey would be coming home to join our crazy crew when he was only 11 days old. We had Mikey placed in our home by foster care and we spent a long 3 years fighting to make him a permanent part of our family. This was a unique adoption case, because he is our blood relative. My brothers and I were all in our teens and twenties when Mikey came along. Although my parents thought they were finished with the baby stage, they didn't hesitate for a second when it came to providing a loving, healthy environment for this tiny preemie baby.

<div>When Mikey was 5 weeks old we found out that he had pyloric stenosis and had surgery to correct it. He spent his first few weeks of life projectile vomiting, unable to eat or keep and food down. After that surgery we soon noticed that his belly looked a little weird. Because he was in foster care and my parents weren't yet his legal guardians, we had to follow foster care's "health plan". After a year of fighting, we finally discovered that he had something called lymphatic malformations. What this means is, Mikey had little tiny microscopic cysts scattered all around his abdomen &amp; intestines. By the time we got the foster agency to pay attention, his entire abdomen and pelvis were filled with large pockets of blood and fluid that filled all of these cysts during that entire year.

<div>We got transferred to Cohen's Children's Hospital where we learned that surgery wasn't an option, but we would have our 1 year old perfect little baby get radiation. His doctors went in to drain these cysts &amp; use radiation to shrink them. After that, we were told that he should be ok until about 5yrs old and that we needed to take him for annual visits at Cohen's. This past September I took him for his annual visit &amp; we were thrilled to hear that we could treat Mikey like a normal kid, that he wasn't "breakable" &amp; he didn't have any sport or activity limitations. He seemed to be doing great up until about 3 weeks ago.

<div>After banging his belly pretty hard, his belly bloated up and he was complaining about how much it was hurting. We instantly thought about his lymphatic malformations and were worried that they've filled back up. We took him to the ER &amp; they sent us to Cohen's after not only confirming that all of his malformations were back and very full, but also informing us about a mass in his pelvis. Once at Cohen's they drained everything but told us that until we knew more about this mass, that radiation wasn't an option.

<div>We now know that this new mass is accompanied by another 2 large masses. His heart, stomach &amp; lungs are all fighting for space in his chest. His bladder is being crushed by the mass in his pelvis. On top of that, his malformation all filled back up after just a few days. Eating, drinking &amp; using the bathroom have become very hard tasks for Mikey to accomplish and through all of that, his smile still lights up the room. He has been so brave, strong &amp; giggly despite all of the needles, procedures, blood work &amp; tests. Mikey is always joking around, making us laugh &amp; is definitely the heart of our family. We all love him more than words can even describe &amp; I'm sure all families say this... But Mikey really is such a special kid, and to watch him go through yet another health problem is heart breaking for all of us.

<div>If you know the Scotto family, you're very familiar with our open door policy &amp; the many different, families, friends, kids and anyone else in need staying in our house. Or our Sunday dinners that require 2 folding tables along with the 8 person dining room table to fit everyone. Both of my parents are the most genuine selfless people that I know, and when I mentioned making a go fund me they weren't really on board. Their response was "Well we don't want to take other people's money, we can't do that!". But after watching my parents time and time again put everyone else's needs before theirs, especially mine &amp; my brothers; I think it's fair to accept some extra help when it's needed.

<div>Hello Friends and family I am Cynthia Rodriguez known to Casty as "MAMA". I am reaching out to everyone with a broken heart  Casty was a loving compassionate person with a huge heart. Casty was such a loving soul he would give his shirt off of his back to anybody. Family was everything to him he always would talk about having a family of his own. Casty lived a pretty hard life but always had a great spirit and positive attitude. He was doing so well he was living with his father and I and was on the right track. His father loves him so much and no matter how upset Casty got him he always had his back no matter what. Unfortunately this is an unexpected shocking tragedy to our family. No parent should have to endure this pain we are feeling and don't wish this on anyone. Casty is survived by his loving Mama, Father, Mother, Big sister Melissa And 4 brothers. Danny, Willie, E.J and Ethan who all love him very much. Gizmo’s Surgery

Hello, all!<br /><br />We are three graduate students, Sabrina, Yaela, and Suman, working towards our Masters degree in global affairs. We have been given an amazing opportunity to work with a grassroots organization in Nepal (ADWAN). We will be taking an in depth look at human trafficking and social stratification in Nepal. <br /><br />We are asking for some help in order to fund our research, volunteer work, and give back to local communities with supplies for education, sustainable development, and ADWAN protection initiatives.<br /><br />Supplies would be, but not limited to: first aid kit materials, pain killers, feminine products, toiletries, books, pencils/pens, notebooks, etc.. <br /><br />The population of Nepal is still suffering the effects of the 2015 earthquake, as well as the damage caused by the massive flooding and land slides in June this year. Volunteer Project in Nepal

One of our community families, The Knapp family have just suffered a devastating loss.  Their house that has been in the family for generations burnt to the ground.    They all made it out  safely including the 2 dogs! They lost all personal items,clothes, photos, sports equipment, trophies, every personal item etc. This family has Nothing left.  They are the family that does for everyone else!!! NOW ITS TIME FOR US TO DO FOR THEM!!  They  have 2  boys 16 and 13  Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated!!
