Kaitlyn Moore

My name is Kaitlyn Moore. I ran into a family while fighting a fire for a homeless man The family consisted of an older brother and an older sister being harassed by code enforcement. Gaining the story of the situation, I learned he and his sister have owned the house that the city is trying to remove and take over because they want to build their own properties to receive money. They have owned it for about 18 years. It is a very special place to them, but unfortunately, it has been condemned due to struggle and poverty. He is working on it on his own because his sister is disabled. I volunteered myself and will utilize my resilient nature to recruit as many people as possible to get everything finished for him and her so they can keep their home and property they own. Right now, I have about 3 people willing to help clean up the weeds in the yard (there are a whole lot of them standing tall and spread out in the whole yard). I am working on someone to tow and store two vehicles out of commission on the property and also trying to find resources for raising funds to pay off and turn on their electricity and water so it can be livable and uncondemned by Monday morning. Monday morning is the time cap given by code enforcement when they threatened to send people to board up her home if she wasn't in it, leaving her on the streets. They stated if she is still there, they will send people to burn her house down, which is a threat and unacceptable. People don't have any consideration or hearts anymore. I am doing what I can out of my heart, and I will reach this goal. Please, if you are interested in volunteering or have any resources or can donate anything, money or hands-on wise, I, he, and she would significantly appreciate it. Who will stand for the community and those in it if we don't help our neighbors? I currently stay in the wellness center, which is a homeless shelter program. Prior to this, I was on the streets, went through foster care, and have had a severely feral and trauma-filled life. I will never turn my cheek to those in need, and I will advocate and fight for those that are down till my last breath. God loves us all, and I sincerely hope to receive some help because I am one small woman, but I have a big goal to achieve and a big heart to share.
