Getting another truck matters because it restores my ability to serve the community I love. It gives me back my purpose. It allows me to keep showing up for the men, women, children, and elders who depend on someone like me—someone who cares enough.

“I care about people. I care about my community- Even while living with my own disabilities and hardships, I’ve always believed that service is part of my purpose. Helping others gives my life more meaning.”-CBQ For years, my pickup truck was more than transportation—it was how I showed up for my community. I used it to take elderly neighbors to urgent appointments, help parents without cars get groceries, and make sure families in Detroit’s food desert areas had access to fresh food instead of being limited to corner stores and gas stations.  I’ve carried kids to after-school activities, delivered necessities to households in crisis, and been a quiet, steady support system for people who had no one else to call. Losing my truck has been devastating. The city took it recently, (I didn’t give it a lot of attention since I was driving the pickup daily). because the 2 tires were flat and I couldn’t afford the repairs just yet and the registration. Especially after my job just moved away. I suddenly canceled allot of plans. Now, I’m asking for help—not just for myself, but for the people who depended on me too. I want to continue serving my community, providing rides, delivering food, and being a lifeline for those without transportation. A replacement or enough to get it back from the city and fixed, would allow me to get back to being the helping hand I’ve always tried to be and stabilize my life again.  In supporting this fundraiser, you’re not just helping me—you’re helping the community I serve and the ones I show up for, every time and overtime. Thank you!
