<div>Rachel and her big sister Gianna were 2 peas in a pod and spent countless hours cuddling and loving one another.  Rachel was a precious little girl.  It was absolutely heartbreaking when at the age of 5, she started having unexplained seizures.  Nine months after her first seizure, Rachel was diagnosed with the Juvenile form of Huntington's Disease (HD).  Sadly, 18 months after that, Rachel died from complications of HD.  This was obviously devastating for the family in so many ways, but little did they know that this was only the beginning of their trials and tribulations with this debilitating disease. <div>Rachel's Dad, Rick Rodino.  He was the second family member diagnosed in 2008 with Huntington's Disease at the age of 53.  Unbeknownst to the family, Rick had been suffering with HD symptoms for almost 10 years prior.  It wasn't until Rachel's diagnosis that the family learned that this hereditary neurological degenerative disease was in their family.  Rick worked for Millionair at The Albany International Airport  when he was first diagnosed.  He was immediately put on disability and now only receives Social Security Disability.

<div>Rick currently lives in his home in Guilderland and is currently in the latter stages of HD.

<div>Anthony Rodino, Rick and Lori's son and Rachel's older brother.  He was the third family member diagnosed with HD at the age of 19 in 2011 just 1 year after Rachel died.  Anthony, a Guilderland HS grad (2010) is currently finishing his Associates Degree at HVCC where he has recieved his Digital Media &amp; Arts Certificate.  He hopes to attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 9/2015 to obtain a BS in Electronic Arts with a concentration in Visual Arts &amp; Animation.

<div>Attending college is imperative to Anthony's well being and his over all health.  School gives Anthony purpose and it helps him stay focused with positive thoughts for a better future.  The family will be applying for financial aid, but additional funding will be needed to help cover the additional costs of attending college.

<div>Gianna Rodino, Rick and Lori's eldest daughter and Rachel's older sister.  Gianna was the 4th member of the family to be diagnosed with HD in 2011 at the age of 17.  She currently attends Siena College as a Junior and is working towards her Social Worker Degree.  She hopes to work in the community and is planning on doing an internship with Hospice this Summer.  She too hopes to continue her education and work towards a Masters degree in social work at SUNY-Albany.

<div>As with Anthony, college has been a necessity for Gianna's well being.  It has allowed her to stay focused on the future and enable her to live as normally as possible.  Even though there are many moments when the sadness of her reality seems too much to bear, Gianna continues to stay strong, push forward and love life, with the support of her family and friends.

<div>And last but certainly not least, Lori (Bernard) Rodino.  She is one of the strongest, most courageous, loving and caring people in this world.  She is always the first to help others in need and is always there for you with a smile, a hug or words of encouragement.  She never complains (honestly never) but her family and friends know that she worries terribly about how she will continue to care for her family 24 hours a day and still keep the house, pay the bills, put food on their table, and put gas in their car.  For many years, it has been a struggle to make ends meet while she leads her family through the misfortunes of this terminally debilitating disease - Huntington's Disease.

After undergoing a endoscopy they found a mass outside his intestines that is blocking his ability to digest food. After all the tests we’ve had done, we’ve been told Jango appears 100% healthy besides this and that if done he should live a full life. </span><br />
</p>









<p class="p1" style="line-height:normal;"><span class="s1">Just the last test alone cost me $1,800. The quote for this surgery is $5,000 to $7,000. Below you can view the estimate from the veterinarian hospital. I’ve been told this is a reasonable quote for this type of procedure. The surgeon stressed that time is of the essence, as the mass could grow or move if we wait. Yes it’s a ridiculous amount of money, none of which I have. I know most people would give up. But I have to find a way. This guy is my world. The hospital doesn’t offer payment plans. I’ve sold things and got a loan but I still need a little more to cover the estimate. If by some miracle I get what I need, any penny over I will give </span><span>to another animal in need. </span><br />

My husband and I had just started trying to conceive when I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I had to have surgery then fly to MD Anderson Cancer Institute in Texas. I lost a grandparent and came close to losing another. My husband and I lost our best friend. I struggle with severe anxiety and chronic onset pain caused by a neurological condition. <span>Jango has always been my emotional support, especially this year. I know to some of you he may be just a pet... but he’s so much more to me. I know he can’t live forever, but I need him for just a little longer. </span>

Saving Jango The Bengal

<p><span style="font-size:1.0625rem;">In April 2021, </span><span style="font-size:1.0625rem;">Matt and Courtney Krzykowski’s family of three became a beautiful family of four. Four year old Couaira became a big sister to Cerafina.  Matt loves being a girl dad and calls them both his princesses.</span>
</p>

<p><span style="font-size:1.0625rem;">One month before he first held his daughter Cerafina, Matt was admitted to the hospital thinking he needed to have his appendix taken out. Matt and Courtney’s worlds were flipped upside down when Matt, at 35 years old, was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic colon cancer that has spread to his liver and lymph nodes. Matt had two major emergency surgeries and  has since started both chemotherapy and immunotherapy which have taken a toll on him physically, mentally and emotionally. </span>
</p>

<p><span style="font-size:1.0625rem;">Matt and Courtney have remained pillars of strength despite the hardships they are facing.  They are excellent parents and trying to maintain as close to a normal life as possible for their girls. Their new normal comes with a large amount of appointments and with those of course come medical bills. <br /><br />If you have ever had cancer or loved someone who has had cancer, you know that the cost of treatments add up quickly. The goal of this gofundme is to take as much off of the family’s financial  plate as possible. The road ahead of Matt and his family is long and any donation helps!</span>

The Krzykowski Family

Finn was diagnosed with FIP - Feline infectious peritonitis - on March 12th. This normally has a 95-100% mortality rate until of recent. There is hope but it is not US FDA approved yet, it is costly BUT the studies of cats put on this treatment had a 90% survival and CURED rate. We think we caught it early enough and even after one dose he is doing somewhat better and has not thrown any of his food up. This fundraiser is mostly to raise funds for his medicine as well as vet blood panels and extra costs involved like the syringes and such. But at this point I'm at my wit's end and actually need some help, 2 of my babies have have been murdered, one was shot in the head and the other was poisoned , and I am devastated , I love sharing my life and family with you guys and you guys have become like an extension of my family, I hate to bring my burden to you but I can't possibly handle another loss.
