I'm raising funds for my dad after he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in May of this year. Since then, our family has been trying to help him through this while also facing the growing burden of medical bills.
<br>
<br>
 One of the hardest parts has been watching him lose a lot of weight so quickly because he cannot hold food. It has also been incredibly hard to balance normal life while doing everything we can to help my dad have a good quality of life while he is still battling cancer.
<br>
<br>
 The support from this fundraiser will help pay the medical bills we already owe, as well as future bills for his chemo treatment. It will also help cover ER visits that have been happening on and off since May. Because these expenses continue over time, recurring donations would make a real difference in helping us keep up with his ongoing care. One-time donations are also deeply appreciated and would help ease some of the financial pressure on our family.
<br>
<br>
 If you are able to give or share this fundraiser, it would mean so much to us. Thank you for supporting my dad during this difficult time.

<div>
</div>Hi! My name is Ronnie (she/they) and I’m a Unitarian Universalist seminarian, aspiring birthworker, organizer, and writer. I identify as a Black disabled queer femme, and I reside in Oakland, CA on Ohlone land. <br /><br />
<div>The past year, I’ve been dealing with new complications related to my disability and I am working on getting on the path to greater mobility, stability, and self-care. That’s why I’m starting this campaign to raise money to cover the costs of my health needs.

</div>

<div>
 <br />

</div>

<div>
 I am hoping to get mobility devices, like a scooter, that would add ease to my daily life, cover medical expenses that would ease the burden of needed doctor visits and physical therapy, and attend to self-care needs that would allow me to invest in my emotional and spiritual wellbeing after experiencing a year of housing insecurity in the Bay Area.
</div>

<div>
 <br />

</div>

<div>
 My community means a lot to me so I don’t take your giving lightly. I appreciate it more than you know. My hope is to pour more into myself so I can pour more into you, and show up better in this ailing world.

</div>

<div>
 <br />

</div>

<div>
 Thank you in advance for the support. <span>If you would like to give another way or have any resources to offer, hit me up! :)</span>

<div>Adalberto Zanes is an Indigenous elder who lives in Corpus Christi. He is always called on by his city &amp; community to offer prayers — whether it is at museums, city events, powwows, &amp; ceremonies.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>THE WHOLE CITY KNOWS AND LOVES HIM. He is deeply proud of his ancestors and wears his regalia proudly, never hiding or ashamed of his roots to this land.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>HE WAS TAKEN BY ICE ON AUGUST 11th ON HIS WAY TO WORK
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>His community is now faced with raising at LEAST $20k to pay for lawyer fees.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>PLEASE ALSO CALL Rep. Micheal Cloud and ask for his release and to check on his well being. YOU CAN CALL EVERY DAY.
</div>

<div>SCRIPT: “My name is ___. I’m calling to ask Rep. Cloud to open an inquiry into the ICE detention of Adalberto Zanes, an Indigenous Cultural leader and elder detained August 11th in corpus christi. Please check for his well being &amp; advocate for his release.”

<div><br />
</div>
<div>All funds will be going to Adalberto's friend, Jessica M Hernandez, as per his brother Adan's request for her to support their family in this process.

Help Adalberto Zanes Pay Lawyer Fees After ICE Detention

<div>I’m a Mohawk and Cree 2-Spirit artist, and I’ve just been selected as a featured designer for Indigenous New York Fashion Week!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I’m currently finishing a collection centered around themes of identity, gender/queerness, and labor from an Indigenous perspective. What does labor mean, in a contemporary sense, under the throes of capitalism, and patriarchy? What is gender, outside of a colonial framework? This line explores the meaning of identity by examining the roots of our Indigeneity, and to the Earth itself— revealing how “queerness” and authentic self are ripples of ancestral memory. And how do we, as Indigenous people, protect our cultural and spiritual identity from a system of governance who’s sole function is to extract and lay waste?
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Much of this collection has been directly inspired by my work as a creative media team member while working for the Sogorea Te’ Land Trust in Huchiun (Oakland, California). Witnessing this intertribal, Indigenous-led, women-led organization move mountains, shift perspectives, and transform the social landscape to center the tribal Lands has been an empowering experience. I have also witnessed a steady stream of ongoing patriarchal violence be absorbed by these women, transmuted into prosperity with grace and intention. So much of our survival and prosperity as a species is accomplished only by the perseverance and caring action of women. Through my work, I celebrate as we approach a new era where Indigeneity, Women, and Land are honored as the sacred portals of abundance that we are.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As a 2 Spirit Indigenous femme, I am blessed to be a weaver, and I hold my role as a storyteller as a sacred one. As I witness myself and my Indigenous 2-Spirit, Queer, Trans/Non-Binary relatives step into our power as necessary healers, weavers, dreamers, and nurturers, I’m honored to be here today. Alive, strong, grateful.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This collection is a spotlight to and for those unseen— to the grandmothers, and to my spider ancestors who hold infinity, weaving silk strands with 8 arms. Who, with 8 eyes, see everything.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am so honored to be a part of INYFW 2026, and at the same time, unprepared for such a huge event. I am launching this fundraiser to help me pay for my flights, lodging, meals, etc especially since this is one of the more expensive times to travel to NYC. I’m also hoping to hire help for a multitude of things including to assist on the day of event, as well as helping operate my vending table during INYFW weekend. Lastly, to purchase supplies and equipment for the remainder of my pieces that need to be finished in the next few weeks.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you so much for all the support and love I’ve already received since announcing this last week. I’m overjoyed. Grateful. I feel brave, and loved.

Karon ( the aunt) is raising funds for <strong>Kiara Bowling</strong> after a devastating accident changed Kiara’s life. Kiara was hit by a vehicle being driven by youth under 10 years old, and the injuries from that incident have created a long and difficult road ahead. This fundraiser is being created to help Kiara through the challenges that follow such a traumatic event and to make sure support is there during this painful and uncertain time.
<br />
<br />
 Kiara is facing a lifelong recovery and will need continued care far beyond the immediate aftermath of the accident. Donations will help with medical bills, ongoing medical support, transportation to appointments, physical therapy, and other surgeries Kiara may need along the way. Every contribution, no matter the size, can help ease some of the burden and allow Kiara to focus on healing and recovery. Please consider supporting Kiara Bowling and keeping Kiara in your thoughts during these difficult times. Your kindness, prayers, and generosity will mean so much as Kiara faces the road ahead.

<div>hey heyy!! on February 17th your girl is getting a BRAND NEW FACE!!! &lt;3
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I’m incredibly excited, extremely emotional, and also kinda nervous.. I could use help to relieve that stress &lt;3
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I’m budgeting for a few months of expenses as the recovery time is so different from person to person. Those funds will go towards rent, utilities, food, credit card bills, and a buffer in case complications arise or any accidents occur.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is my first surgery in 7 years, since a really bad work accident (100 bucks and I’ll tell ya what happened ;) Any help, any donation big or small will make an impact on my peace of mind and quality of life. Even just a few dollars would go a long way!!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you are unable to donate then please please PLEASE share widely, especially with your rich straight friends!!!

<div>Hello everyone, Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and check in on me and my family. I really appreciate you being here, whether you’re able to donate, share, or just hold us in your thoughts.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I’m reaching out because my family in Jamaica has been hit incredibly hard by Hurricane Melissa, and I really need help supporting them through this crisis. Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica as a Category 5 storm, the strongest hurricane ever recorded to hit the island. It passed almost directly over Montego Bay, where my family lives, and the damage has been devastating.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>My sister’s home had the doors ripped off and the inside of her house flooded. All of her belongings were either water damaged, destroyed, or blown away. Her fridge and stove are ruined, her bed had to be thrown out, and most of her clothes and small items are gone. The roads near her home washed away, so she’s been walking three hours just to check on her house.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Separately, my family has been navigating another really heavy situation. My dad passed away last week due to months of health complications from a car accident earlier this year. He suffered a stroke and was moved into a nursing facility shortly before the storm. Because the hurricane knocked out power and damaged infrastructure, we couldn’t get updates on him. When we were finally able to get through, we learned that his condition had worsened, and he passed a few days later.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I now need to travel to Jamaica for the funeral, cover the cost of missing work, and bring supplies from the US since resources are limited right now. This has all been a lot to carry at once, and I hate asking for money, but I simply don’t have enough to cover everything and help my family.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I’m raising funds to help:

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div> - Repair my sister’s home, including replacing the doors and fixing storm damage

</div>

<div> - Replace the belongings that were lost or destroyed

</div>

<div> - Purchase a new fridge and stove

</div>

<div> - Cover travel and funeral costs, including taking time off work

</div>

<div> - Bring supplies from the US that aren’t easily accessible right now

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I’m hoping to raise $5,000 to help cover all of these expenses. Every donation, no matter the amount, will directly support my family as we try to rebuild and recover from both the storm and the loss of my father. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for any support you’re able to give!

Help My Family After Hurricane Melissa and My Dad’s Passing

<div>Hello everyone,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is Rita, a sweet and loyal 5-year-old dog we rescued from the streets. From the moment she joined our family, she has been an incredible source of emotional support, giving us nothing but love and loyalty.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Recently, we received devastating news: Rita has a large mass on her front left leg that, after a biopsy, was diagnosed as soft tissue sarcoma. While this type of cancer is considered non-aggressive if treated quickly, the mass is too large to remove without risk. The veterinarians recommend amputating her leg to prevent the cancer from spreading.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This surgery is urgent and costly, and covering the expense on such short notice is beyond our means, even with credit. We’re reaching out to our community for support in helping us raise the funds needed for Rita’s surgery and recovery. Any contribution, big or small, truly makes a difference.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>To help, we’re also hosting a benefit concert October 3rd with our band, The Cires, at The Bistro in downtown Hayward from 8–11pm. We’d love for you to join us for an evening of live music and community support for Rita.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any help you can give. ❤️

Surgery for Rita

<div><strong>Cherri Murphy is a committed minister and advocate for the people.</strong> A strong believer that God is present in every human being, Cherri has worked tirelessly to improve wages and living conditions for people who are struggling.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Now Cherri needs our help.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In the early summer of 2025, Cherri suffered a number of serious medical complications following what should have been routine surgery. These included blood clots in her heart and lungs, requiring additional surgeries, and also a significant stroke. At this writing, Cherri has no use of the right side of her body and is unable to speak. (If you knew Cherri, you'd know what a misery that last bit is!)
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As her friends, we are committed to getting Cherri the best care possible to give her the best shot at recovery. She is working hard to get back as much functionality as she can, BUT Medicaid pays very little of her costs.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We know the systems are broken and breaking further as we write this. Right now, we (you, us, Cherri--all of us together) are all we have. <strong>Can you help us raise the money for Cherri to get the care she needs?</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for being a part of the more just and loving world Cherri and all of us are fighting for.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>NOTE: Carol Robison will be paying for services directly so is accepting the funds on Cherri's behalf.

Help Cherri Murphy Recover and Rebuild

<div>Early this year, Alicia’s home flooded. She is liable for damages due to her rental agreement. This Spring she had to move out of her apartment (alongside all of her furniture and belongings) and then move back in about two weeks later.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Alicia needs $8000 to recoup the cost of:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
<li>Moving EVERYTHING in and out of her apartment so that the property owners could renovate. Costs include packing, moving, storage unit rental, accommodations.
</li>
<li>A portion of the cost of renovation. ️
</li>
<li>Lawyer fees.
</li>
<li>Lost income from Alicia’s business <a href="https://www.sheabutterbabyshop.com/?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAaYlocqiAT0vE2cdGcMbLPNteN5xKRrxHRtfD64ZVwJvfL77QelD2LlRpyo_aem_G1b4MjJ05SfJsteMIse9UQ" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Shea Butter Baby</a> and other side gigs. This work must take place in her kitchen, which was unusable during the renovation period. ‍
</li>
<li>Incidentals like Ubers and Grocery Delivery, necessary while managing the emergency.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Alicia has a reputation for offering tangible, sustainable, self-aware support to friends through big, small, and life-changing challenges. On top of that, she’s there for the good times: she organizes regular community events popular among queers, crips, and people of colour, like workshops and gatherings.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Alicia’s already reached out to friends and family about help packing, getting rides places, picking up supplies, places to stay during the renovation period, and some of the renovation costs that she’s liable for. This demanded a great deal of vulnerability that she’s handled with grace. <strong>This fundraiser is to cover the remaining costs that can’t be offered by volunteers or covered by family.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She has already looked into her legal rights and is not looking for additional support navigating the situation with her property manager.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please help us get Alicia back to her regular routine in this Fall so that she can continue living her best life!

<div>Hello everyone, my name is Mahmoud, I created this donation link, to help my brother Youssef Sehweil is 24 years old, his wife Sarah Sehweil is 21 years old, and their war-born young daughter Makkah is 11 months old.<br />

</div>

<div>In another campaign, we collected the amount required to evacuate Youssef, his wife and his daughter, and now we are trying to collect some donations to Youssef and his family as another solution in order to survive, and the donations he receives from this campaign will go directly to Youssef and his family.<br />

</div>

<div>This is the link of the other campaign, which became for the whole family. <br />

</div>

<div>And now everyone knows the situation in Gaza, the difficulty of living there during this war, and the high prices of everything, including food, water, medicine and other supplies,It almost costs one day to survive about $50 and more.<br />

</div>
<div>Every donation from you helps them survive.<br />
</div>

<div>Youssef started his life in Gaza like other young people, he has ambition and has dreams, he finished his electricity studies, he was playing sports, he is a football player, he dreamed of starting a family and getting married and having his young daughter Makkah in the war.<br />

</div>

<div>He worked hard to secure his family a small apartment, and unfortunately the house he lived in was bombed, which led to the destruction of his apartment, which he was tired and hard to get it.<br />

Help Yousef’s family survive in Gaza

<div>Hi, I am asking you to help my friend Bill who is in great need. His car is a safety hazard, he may lose his business, his home, and his family's belongings, and needs help. I was doing all I can, but it is no longer enough. I have asked him to tell his story, below:
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>"I never thought I would have to resort to a fundraiser like this, but my circumstances are dire and I feel that I have few other options. I am 81 years old and my overall health is not great.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>My small mail-order business has been declining since 2015 when I was forced to neglect it while I helped to provide full-time care to my ex-wife in the final years of her life. During that time, I was stricken with a serious case of pneumonia. To add to it all, my daughter died of suicide one week after her husband died.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>Following the death of my ex-wife, I came down with a bad case of shingles, complicated by a staph infection that put me hours away from sepsis, for which I was hospitalized. Shortly after, my landlord passed away suddenly from pancreatic cancer! I have never fully regained my strength since that hospitalization. Moving from the home and office where I had lived for 30 years was a nightmare and very expensive.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>My mail-order business was moved to an office which cost me more than the business was bringing in. Then before I could get back on my feet, starting in 2020, there has been COVID, supply chain problems, product shortages, and most recently the cost of everything has risen sharply, including food, gasoline, and almost everything else. Shipping costs have risen considerably, which has been a deterrent for many customers. As a very small business, I cannot easily provide free shipping as Amazon can.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>Add to all this that my 17-year-old vehicle has needed several thousands of dollars of work for the last two years, which I haven’t been able to repair, and I have reached a point where I am forced to ask for help.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>As it stands, I owe two of my closest friends over $10,000 for loans they had given me.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>I am hoping to raise enough money to pay for vehicle repairs or vehicle replacement with a reliable used car. I also hope to pay my back rent and other accounts that are in arrears. And finally, to begin repaying those outstanding loans.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>I am deeply grateful and humbled by any help I receive and appreciate any sharing of this fundraiser."

Urgent Help Needed for my Elderly Friend

<div>My name is Aaron Lee Tasjan and I'm a friend and professional colleague of singer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and artist, <strong>Lafemmebear</strong>.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Just last week, we shared the stage together at Willie Nelson's Luck Reunion Festival in Spicewood, TX. As the current administration's policies have made travel very challenging for trans folks, she chose to drive to the festival from her home in the mountains of Oakland, CA. As Lafemme was driving home, she was rear-ended by an 18-wheeler and hospitalized. Her car, which was totaled, also had a lot of her essential music equipment and wardrobe in it. <strong>We created this campaign to raise funds to help her get a new wardrobe as well as replace the valuable equipment she's lost, which she uses to make her living.</strong> Please give if you can. <strong>Every little bit helps us support this brilliant musician and dear friend to so many in the community.</strong>

Help Lafemmebear Replace Essential Music Gear

<div>Hello:) I am very very lucky to be receiving ********surgery on April 8th. So, I unexpectedly got notified of a $5800 bill which will be almost my entire savings on top of my entire upcoming paycheck. I will barely be scraping by. I am taking over a month off of work to recover, and need some support for bills and recovery costs. March 8th is the deadline for me to pay the $5800. I’m really scared and trying to get my shit together in the next 12 days to pay. I could really use help.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>over the next two months, these funds would help me cover: food($450), aftercare($100), therapy($280), transportation to follow up appointments($100), rent/utilities($1600), meds($220), and 4-5 days of lodging for caregiver &amp; I($5-600).
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I won’t say too much but it’s really really hard to live like this and I think anyone who knows me sees this pain. Postponing truly is not an option…. I’m trying my best to do this on my own and scrambling to find other resources but I’m at a point where I just need to ask for help from community. Please don’t feel guilty if you can’t donate. Please do send to your friends♥️

A surgery to save my life

<div>Please consider donating to help Veronica cover the cost of medical fees for her upcoming gender affirming surgery on March 25th, 2025.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Veronica (she/her) is a social worker in the Bay Area who works in supportive housing for LGBTQ+ youth. In both her professional and personal life, Veronica dedicates so much time, energy, and resources into supporting her community. She will be the first person to provide a warm meal, a shoulder to cry on, and is someone you can always count on to show up for you. To be loved by Veronica is to be seen fully and without judgement, to always be shown your worth, and to know that you are home.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>So many of us are so lucky to be in community with Veronica and experience the light she shines in all of our lives. Now is the time for us to give that love back to her and support her on her journey. We aim to raise $8200 to cover the medical fees that must be paid in full prior to her upcoming surgery. Please consider donating any amount you can, anything helps

<div><strong>We are in a housing crisis. </strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>People of all ages, and families with children, are desperately searching for safe, secure, affordable homes. It especially breaks my heart to know that so many seniors cannot find a place to call home.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My name is Karen Smulevitz, and I care about my neighbors in Oakland, California, where there is not enough affordable housing for everyone who needs it. I can't ignore the hardship this causes, and I intend to DO SOMETHING to help out.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am fortunate to live in a senior housing complex, so I am safe and secure, but many others are not.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It is my deepest desire to help others get the opportunity for a place of their own.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>That is why I want to do something SPECTACULAR to draw attention to the problem and encourage good people to help alleviate the suffering due to homelessness.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On my 80th birthday, March 14, 2025, my SPECTACULAR exploit will be to jump out of an airplane! That will be a LEAP to let you know how serious I am in helping seniors get a roof over their heads.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It's called Jump 4 Home, and the intent is to raise money for affordable housing.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please consider sponsoring me and help raise funds. It could make an incredible difference for someone who needs a home. Tell your friends and family to join in! You are also welcome to join me in jumping on March 14. How thrilling that would be!

She has taught bilingual parenting classes in Altadena and Pasadena, partnering with schools through an organization called PACTL (Pasadena/Altadena Coalition for Transformative Leadership). Miriam has taught people in underserved communities, like immigrant parents, teen moms, and people who have had their children taken away by DCFS. Miriam is a pillar in this community and she really needs our support right now.

<div><strong>About StaceyFest</strong>
</div>
<div>Picture this: It’s a sunny day in Oakland and Frank Ogawa/ Oscar Grant Plaza. Music is blasting, a disabled dancer is on stage, an ASL Interpreter is signing the lyrics. Rows of people, some in chairs, some with canes, all watch and sway and cheer. Further down the plaza, a line tables are busy with people. A nearby building has a door open leading to a low sensory room where people are quietly recharging and resting. At the row of tables, each one has a representative from a different group sharing ways to engage in their group, learn about services offered by their organization, or to purchase food from disabled vendors. This is <strong>disability joy in action</strong>. This is StaceyFest.

<div>**** UPDATE June 2024****
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hi folks, I wanted to talk a moment to update y'all as my needs have changed. I originally made this fundraiser to try to help me create a sense of financial grounding for myself as I move through grad school. However, life has been dealing some intense health-related blows and I feel it important to do some end-of-life planning. I do still need support with the original goals of this fundraiser *and* I will also be raising funds to help me cover some end-of-life preparation/pre-preplanning. My intention is to use funds to cover:
</div>
<div>- $6500 funeral pre-arrangement (currently being paid in monthly installments of $205/mo)
</div>
<div>- $400/mo guaranteed issuance life insurance
</div>
<div>- $1500 lawyer fee to set up a power of attorney
</div>
<div>- $700/mo therapy
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Any excess that I raise will go towards my monthly costs (bill/medicine/insurance) and items covered below in the original wording of this fundraiser.
</div>
<div>********************************************
</div>
<div>My name is Zaire (they/them) and I’m a disabled Black trans person working to become a chaplain. 2023 has been a hard year for me. In addition to attending seminary and managing my growing list of chronic health issues, I have dealt with violence in my neighborhood, harassment from a neighbor, having my car stolen, and the loss of my best friend, my dog Spikey. My medical costs are increasing, my new car requires more maintenance, and I want to move to a safer neighborhood, but I just don’t have enough money to meet my needs right now. My health issues make it impossible for me to work while in grad school - any time I’m not working on school I’m stuck at home/in bed sick.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Because of this, I am asking for support to cover specific needs while I work to complete my Master’s in Divinity.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I have multiple autoimmune disorders. I have also developed new health issues since having a heart attack in 2022. One of the biggest challenges I’m managing right now is fat malabsorption, which means my body is struggling to digest fat. I’ve had to buy more expensive food items or shop at more expensive stores to give my body food that it can digest, and I need additional supplements to digest my fat-soluble vitamins. I also spend a lot of money on copays for my medications. One of my medications alone is $500, so I spend about $700 per month on prescriptions and another $100 on supplements. I also spend a lot of money on skincare products when I have psoriasis flares, which happens every couple of months. Flares are not only painful, but require special products and care to make sure the plaques don’t get infected. I am particularly prone to infection because I’m on immunosuppressants. I spend another $250/wk on therapy. In an ideal world, I would love to get weekly acupuncture and massages again to help with my pain, which would each cost about $150/wk.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>My health is also exacerbated by the violence and stress in my neighborhood. I currently live in Oakland, CA and witness physical violence and robberies almost daily. My car was stolen right outside of my house this spring. I was able to use the insurance payout towards a new car, but the price of used cars is ridiculously high right now and the only car I was able to afford is now costing me even more in repairs. One essential repair that I haven’t even been able to get diagnosed is an issue with my heat/AC. This is especially important for me because the specific combination of my medications and medical conditions make it difficult for my body to regulate its own heat. When this happens, I can end up sick for hours or days until my body stabilizes again. It’s disruptive to my life but also dangerous to my health. I need support fixing this as soon as possible before it’s beyond repair

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>In addition to getting my car stolen, I have dealt with harassment from a neighbor since March. He confronts me often claiming that I am watching him, he stalks me around the neighborhood, he’s tried to run me over and he stands at my door for hours watching my apartment. It is clear that he is the one watching me and it has become extremely stressful. I don’t feel safe staying in this apartment or neighborhood and want to move out as soon as humanly, possibly even out of California to a place where I can find a more supportive community.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Needs:

</div>

<div><strong>One time expenses</strong>

</div>

<div>Car repair - $2,500

</div>

<div>1st month and security to move out - $3000

</div>

<div><strong>Monthly needs </strong>

</div>

<div><em>$700 on prescriptions</em>

</div>

<div><em>Supplements and skincare - $200</em>

</div>

<div>Therapy - $1000

</div>

<div>Pain management - $1200

</div>

<div>$1100 a month to help out with current rent

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Luckily, a kind soul has offered to help out with my monthly prescriptions, supplements and skincare items. This means I just need monthly support with rent, pain management and therapy. Also, if any acupuncture or massage therapists in the Oakland area want to donate their services to me instead of funds, that would be much appreciated!

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>TOTAL: $5,500 one time, and $3,300 monthly (3 months = 9,900)

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>With your support, I can get out of my current situation and sustain some of my high expenses for a few months. I applied to divinity school to help others and provide affirming care. Your support can help me achieve my dream!

Support a Black trans disabled chaplain!

<p>My name is LaMonté Ford, I’m 51 years old, and I’ve been living in my RV in West Oakland since my longterm community was displaced by the City of Oakland last year. I was born and raised in Oakland and I’d like to stay here, if possible.
</p>
<p>This might be a bit much butI would appreciate your help in fundraising to buy a starter for recent purchased vehicle. I bought something that runs so I can move around and not be evicted by the city. It ran great for three days and guess what... the starter goes out. The starter cost 240 plus tax and I'm looking to raise just that amount. I still live with my two dogs, Rosie and Coco, whom I love very much. And I always try my best to be a good neighbor.
</p><br />
<p>Thank you for the support.

Unhoused in Oakland, Fundraising for a starter

<div>Hello friends and family!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We're sorry to have to do this, but our home is at risk. Four months ago we paid $14,000 and knocked out what remained of our savings to replumb our entire 137-year-old house. A major cast iron pipe cracked, causing a chain reaction that affected the rest of the house.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>One week ago, our furnace began experiencing issues. While it's below freezing outside, our heater will only bring parts of the house up to 42 degrees (and other parts even less, but there's no gauge to know the exact numbers). We have a five-year-old, a two-year-old, and a four-month-old baby. We've had HVAC techs out four times now, and the last "fix" only lasted a day. Today's tech called it officially: we need a furnace replacement, costing about $5,000.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Three days ago we plugged in a space heater to help keep the house from freezing overnight. This caused power in the entire front half of the house to go out: our living room, family room, 5yo's bedroom, our bedroom (where the baby's crib also is), half of the 2yo's room, and the upstairs bathroom.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We've had a few quotes for the electrical, and we're definitely looking at a 4-week whole house rewire costing $20-30,000. We are looking into further borrowing power, but we're basically tapped out after loans for the plumbing and our minivan we purchased for the birth of our third child.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We're expecting some money from our tax return, but we're still waiting on W2s to be able to file. I am in the process of finding a new job to help with expenses, but the money will not come immediately, and we need to get going fixing the home our young children live in. It's winter, and we need power and especially heat.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please, donate anything you can. Anything helps.

The Sebesta Family Needs Help!

<div>Update 1/10/2024
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I've gotten a surprise dental bill of $800. I've been applying to jobs and still haven't gotten anything, getting a bunch of rejections this week. I would love to get support and stability as I continue my job search, so every donation counts!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you everyone for your support through this ongoing medical and financial crisis. I'm so deeply grateful for everyone who has shown up for me.

<div>⁣Update 9/23/2023
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hi everyone,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for supporting me! I have some upsetting news: my lease is up on Sept. 30 and I'm leaving my apartment. I was going to crash with friends, but 3 different arrangements fell through. I'm currently fundraising for a sublet (the lowest priced one available to me is $1050) so I can have a safe and warm place to stay.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I've still been on the job search but I haven't had any luck. A job with medical care would be great, but in the meantime, any and all support here is appreciated. Even $5 helps (and larger donations are very appreciated). Please continue to share with your networks.

<div>Update 7/27/2023
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hi everyone,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you so much for donating to this fundraiser for the past 9 months. If you told me when all this happened I would be sick and unemployed for this long, I'd be terrifed. I have been able to get through this with the help and support of my friends and community. I'm so grateful.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Your donations have kept me fed, paid urgent medical bills, and kept me going throughout financial instability.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am still in urgent need. I'm looking for jobs but haven't been able land anything yet. I currently need to pay $2100 in rent August 1st to avoid an eviction. $150 to keep my lights on, $100 to keep my phone on, and then whatever else gets raised goes towards food.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please, if you have capacity, donate, share, and boost my fundraiser!
</div>

</div>
<div>My name is Alyssia, and I'm fundraising for medical expenses, rent, and my continued thriving and survival during a challenging moment in my life.⁣
</div>
<div>⁣
</div>
<div>⁣
</div>
<div>I was let go from my position as an organizing director at a local bay area housing organization in mid-September. My medical practitioners worked with me to treat as much as possible before my insurance ran out on October 1st. Despite our best efforts, even with medical insurance, I'm left with an urgent treatment plan which costs at LEAST $23,000.I have an underlying medical issue that’s caused many problems, the most urgent one being four cracked teeth and a gum infection. I'm in pain, and if I don't get treatment soon, I can lose my teeth.⁣
</div>
<div>⁣
</div>
<div>⁣
</div>
<div>On top of navigating my medical issues, my job loss has rendered me financially unstable. I've sent a request for a rent reduction to my property management company, and I'm waiting to hear back about benefits like SNAP.⁣
</div>
<div>⁣
</div>
<div>⁣
</div>
<div>I need to start fundraising proactively, so I don't fall behind, adding to the stress that is making these medical issues worse.⁣
</div>
<div>⁣
</div>
<div>⁣
</div>
<div>I'm looking to fundraise six months of rent, COBRA, medical appointments, and living expenses to focus on recovery. I'm going to restart my consulting business so I can have the flexibility to schedule clients around medical appointments. Even so, I cannot cover all my expenses without communal support. Please give what you can and share with your networks. Thank you!⁣
</div>
<div>⁣
</div>
<div>⁣
</div>
<div>Breakdown of expenses:⁣
</div>
<div>⁣
</div>
<div>$23,000 dental bill⁣
</div>
<div>$2500 rent and utilities (yes it's very high and I'm doing my best to get a reduction) x 6 months = $15,000⁣
</div>
<div>$500 COBRA x 6 = $3000⁣
</div>
<div>$1000 medical appointments, therapy, medication, acupuncture x 6 = $6000⁣
</div>
<div>$500 food and transportation x 6 = $3000⁣
</div>
<div>Cushion for unexpected medical costs and coverage of GoFundMe fees = $2000⁣
</div>
<div>⁣
</div>
<div>Total: $52,000

</div>

Housing Needs

<div>I'm organizing this fundraiser on behalf of an Indigenous woman, loved one and Bay Area queer femme artist and community worker who has been forced out of her apartment after being stalked by a white male neighbor. <strong>This is the second time she has been displaced by targeted racist attacks in the COVID pandemic alone.</strong><br /><br />Native Women in the so-called U.S. and Canada are disproportionately susceptible to gendered violence, and our community member is already a trauma survivor with PTSD, making this experience especially re-traumatizing. Please help us find safe housing for her and her senior dog.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>Moving is an incredibly expensive venture, especially in urban centers like San Francisco which often require exorbitant move-in fees. We are raising money for:
</div>

<ul>
<li>Security deposit
</li>

<li>First &amp; last month's rent
</li>

<li>Pet deposit

<li>Movers

Help a Native Woman Find Safety After Stalking

<div>Hello community!
</div>
<div>Kaleia and I have benefitted tremendously from the care and generosity of our community throughout this last year. It is heavy to explain in full detail what this year has been like for us--I will let the previous <a href="https://gofund.me/33cbac10" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">gfm</a> 's explain it all--but I will say it is so powerful to have been supported enough for us to move to a new home as well as pay for travel and lodging for surgery six months ago. It is no small feat and we are deeply grateful!

Fortunately we both are working enough that we can cover food but we are still struggling with massive backrent and bills
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are hoping this full goal can be met and go towards this backrent--if more is made the remaining will all go to Kaleia

<p>Rogers &amp; Rosewater's mission is to feed as many people as we can. <br /><br />We believe that food is a necessity and a human right.  No one should go hungry!<br /><br />We have been bringing hot homemade meals to people facing food insecurity in Oakland every Wednesday night since December 2018.<br /><br />We are a small group of dedicated volunteers who take the time to listen to those we serve.  For instance, each week we are sure to bring the older man who lives in his truck a special bag of cat food for his feline best friend.  We make a special stop at the drugstore to get denture paste for a woman who asks for it.  Sometimes we buy diapers for a struggling family.   After bad weather and fires, we check on our folks to make sure they're okay.  We do our best to adjust our meals to meet dietary needs and requests.  These are our neighbors and friends and we care about them. <br /><br />&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;<br /><br />Currently we provide meals, pet food, and hygiene kits to over 200 people every week throughout north, west, and downtown Oakland.  <br /><br />Our goal with this fundraiser is to ensure that we can continue for the next six months while also having a cushion to respond to emergency requests for tents, sleeping bags, clothing, and other needs. <br /><br />Our weekly expenses:  <br /><br />Food - $200 (this includes water, juice, snacks, fruit, and the ingredients for soups, sandwiches, and other homemade dishes)<br /><br />Hygiene - $100 - $200 (this usually includes such items as toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, sanitary wipes, lip balm, socks, washcloths, flashlights, masks, and hand sanitizer)<br /><br />Pet Food - $15 (we try to provide food for the pet companions of the people we serve... sometimes this means catering to the taste of some very picky cats lol) <br /><br />Emergency Expenses - Occasionally folks will ask for tents, bedding, warm and clean clothing, and other items that they really need.  We would like to have the funds to immediately respond to these requests.<br /><br />&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;<br /><br />The world we live in can be harsh and cruel to people-especially those who are experiencing homelessness. <br /><br />And all we want to be is the kindness in it - one meal at a time. <br /><br />Thank you for your support! &lt;3<br /><br />(for more information on what we do and how you can help, visit our website <a href="http://www.rogersandrosewater.org">www.rogersandrosewater.org</a>)<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/55885886_1617820834892732_r.jpeg" alt="55885886_1617820834892732_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/55885886_161782091331669_r.jpeg" alt="55885886_161782091331669_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/55885886_1617820687143922_r.jpeg" alt="55885886_1617820687143922_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />

Help Rogers & Rosewater Deliver Meals and Kindness

My mama and heart, lovingly known as Chely, is currently fighting a serious combo of giardia parasitic disease,  and cetacidosis diabetica and has been in the hospital for about a week. She traveled abroad to our homeland, El Salvador last Tuesday to care for my abuelita who broke her hip and had to have extensive surgery. I am heavy with grief, trying to stay hopeful and am needing community support.<br /><br />My mama and my family are needing financial support to cover her hospital stay and medication. We are praying for my mama's recovery and safe return. I am hoping she will be back in the United States this weekend. Her recovery process and medical care will have to continue when she returns for at least another month. <br /><br />I am asking for y'alls support to fundraise $2,000 which will cover her medical stay abroad and her antibiotics for at least another week. We are needing to pay this amount by this Thursday. Any amount makes an impact. Please share and donate if you can.<br /><br />with so much gratitude,<br />yoyo

Mi Mami's Medical Recovery - Please support!

I'm posting this request for a friend of 45 years.  She's never had any encounter with the law until she shot and killed an abusive ex-husband.  She's Black.  He's white.  They live in the south.  She needs a lawyer to ensure that she gets the few assets she was entitled to, so she can get adequate representation.  This could be a matter of life or death.  In my years of knowing her, she's shown herself to be generous and kind, master gardener, quilter and activist for her community.  I don't know what made her snap on one fateful day but it's changed her life's path.<br /><br />We are counting on the kindness of strangers to help this deserving woman through this horrible predicament.  Any small amount will help.  If you are not able to help with a donation , can you please help by sharing and forwarding this request and encouraging others to do so as well. <br />I am intentionally keeping her name anonymous for her own safety.  <br /><br />Thank you for your support.
