<div>As some of you know, our friend Sterling has been selected to be on

<div>the National Track Cycling development team. We are all very excited
</div>
<div>for him! Sterling has cycling in his blood and is a natural athlete.
</div>
<div>His father, Paul Renaeu, competed in the 1984 L.A. Olympics in track
</div>
<div>cycling, and now Sterling has a once in a lifetime opportunity to do
</div>
<div>the same in 2028 when the Olympics return to Los Angeles.
</div>

<div>Sterling tried out for USA Cycling's Search for Speed talent ID
</div>
<div>program, and his potential was immediately evident. An opportunity to
</div>
<div>fulfill a lifelong dream has been offered, and Sterling is now
</div>
<div>officially a part of USA Cycling’s Sprint Development Team. During the
</div>
<div>next four years, Sterling will be representing the United States on
</div>
<div>the world stage, with the ultimate goal being to compete in the 2028
</div>
<div>Olympic Games.
</div>

<div>As exciting as this has been, it comes with some challenges. The
</div>
<div>biggest challenge is having to relocate to California. While USA
</div>
<div>Cycling provides some support with a coach, track time and a bike,
</div>
<div>they do not offer any other resources or stipends. Sterling will be a
</div>
<div>self-supported athlete balancing work and full-time training over the
</div>
<div>next few years. Sterling, his partner Beth and their pup Zevah are
</div>
<div>taking a big leap of faith and moving to California to start this new
</div>
<div>chapter. If you know Sterling, you would agree that this couldn’t have
</div>
<div>happened to a better person. He is genuine, caring, and has boundless
</div>
<div>integrity. We are very proud of him and proud to know him.
</div>

<div>We are asking for help to alleviate some of the stress and need that
</div>
<div>comes along with such an endeavor. We are raising money to help
</div>
<div>Sterling and Beth with moving expenses and some of the costs
</div>
<div>associated with getting established in California. This is an

<div>opportunity to not only invest in an amazing person, but also in an

<div>Olympic dream. In a very real way, you will be pushing down on those

<div>pedals with him as he races around that track.

<div>Three and a half years out from my last excision surgery, I am preparing for my fifth endometriosis surgery. Between September 2021 and December 2022, I had four surgeries for endometriosis, half planned and half unplanned.
</div>

<div>Endometriosis is a chronic disease that aﬀects one in ten women. There is no cure for this whole body disease. It is characterized by tissue resembling the lining of the uterus growing on organs and tissues in the body. These adhesions create their own blood supply, nerve endings, contract, bleed, and can cause organ dysfunction. It is an incredibly isolating, painful and disruptive disease.

<div>I make a living running a small business where I work on clients as an esthetician. Due to the nature of my work and living with endometriosis, I have to scale back on clients, causing loss of income. Overall, I have missed about six months of work due to surgeries, flares, illness related to endo, doctors visits, and ongoing physical therapy.

<div>There are currently no excision specialists in Montana, creating the need for me to travel out of state to obtain the surgery. Due to the low payouts from insurance companies for long endometriosis excision surgeries, many endo specialists do not run their surgical costs through insurance. Between time oﬀ from work, my surgeon’s fee, and my max out of pocket, I am looking at about $32,000. I am working to supplement my loss of income through service specials at my business, but it is not feasible for me to raise enough to cover this initial projected cost.

<div>amount. My hope is to help alleviate financial stress on my family, we have been through this four times, and it definitely has left our family in hefty medical debt. If we could avoid this or even lessen it, it would make a world of diﬀerence.
