 My baby brother Caleb — everyone calls him Boomer — came to Illinois to visit me. His first night here, he had a stroke. He spent 6 days in the hospital. While he was there, doctors found something else: his kidneys are failing. He now has to go on the transplant list and wait for a donor.

 If you're from Bogota, NJ, you probably already know Boomer. He spent years as an EMT and first responder in our town — the guy who showed up when other people were having their worst day. Now it's his turn to need help, and it's hard to sit with that.

 He's staying with me while he recovers. Right now that means learning to walk on his own again. After that, it means facing a kidney transplant. He's unable to return to work right now, and he does not have health insurance — so on top of growing medical bills, he's without an income while he heals. My mommy passed away very suddenly from covid 19, pneumonia, and a massive heart attack on 9-12-21. My name is Gilbert Ruiz, a close friend and neighbor of the Kucans for 21 years here in Wood-Ridge, NJ.  Chris's mom, dad and sister, Steven, Sydney and Stephanie Kucan need your assistance with funeral and burial costs for their beloved son &amp; brother, Christopher Kucan who passed away March 15th, 2021.  My deepest and sincere condolences to the Kucan family whom are suffering from unbearable pain &amp; loss from the death of their son &amp; brother. Chris, a Firefighter with the Moonachie Fire Department was a good man and friend to many. Our brother Dylan. Where do we start? Some may know him as a goofy 14-year-old running around PAC, others may remember him being a menace on Woodland Avenue, but my brother's crowning and most proud achievement was being a dad for Lin and Ariel, and a spouse to the love of his life Ashley. <br /><br />When Dylan passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 7th our world was rocked. Myself, Tyler, Frankie, and Danielle lost our calming and caring brother. My parents lost a son who was selfless and full of love. Breleigh, Layla &amp; Emerson lost a fun-loving goofy uncle.  Ashley lost the love of her life. Lin and Ariel lost a father figure that cared for them more than anything in the world. <br /><br />When something this tragic happens to somebody so young and full of love, it shakes a community. We have been contacted by the family, both close and distant; by friends, both new and old. All asking what they can do to help our family during this time. We thought a Go Fund Me was a good idea to allow Dylan's friends and family to help him and our family with the costs of the services. <br /><br />Please do not feel obligated, but know that every dollar helps and will go towards the cost of the arrangements, anything excess will go to his estate which will be of huge help to Ashley and the girls as the dust settles on this tragedy.

Hello all! <br /><br />On October 25th 2019 while teaching a Spartan Short Course my knee randomly twisted out. I was jogging on the course (NOT EVEN RUNNING) towards a hurdle when suddenly I slipped on some mud on the grass that spun my foot out to the side while my knee stayed facing  forward, consequently dislocating my knee. I didn't think much of it since I was in the middle of leading a group and continued through the course holding in the pain.  Shortly after a quick run through of the course  with my jacked up knee, I quickly went to the side and saw my patella was not facing the right way so I placed my hands on my knee and locked out my leg popping everything back in place.  Then I took my Performa Batman Wraps to make one long wrap and wrapped it around the bottom of my knee where I felt pain. I wrapped it as tight as I could so I could stand on it and continue teaching the rest of the day.<br /><br />Later that day I figured the knee was simply sprained so I properly taped and wrapped it hoping it would heal up. A few days passed and the pain kept getting worse instead of subsiding and I couldn't put any weight on it.    So on Wednesday October 30th I ended up at the hospital where they took X-rays put an Ace bandage gave me a handsome bill and referred me to an Orthopedic Surgeon to get an MRI.  Since I have no health insurance, this meant that for me to even be seen and get a prescription to get an MRI I had to pay out of pocket.  Once I had the prescription for the MRI I had to pay again to have the MRI done. Then  after finally getting the MRI I had to re-visit the doctor (another payment on 11/11/19),  just so he can tell me the diagnosis. Thankfully with the help of family I have gotten this far.   <br /><br />As it turns out, this is my complete diagnosis:  I have a Complete ACL tear. Medial meniscal tear, Mild soft tissue edema. Moderate-sized left knee joint effusion. Small contusions as described with a small trabecular fracture at lateral femoral sulcus. Small ganglion cyst formation abutting the medial gastrocnemmius teninous origin.<br /><br />Needless to say, I need surgery, badly and as soon as possible.  The cost for surgery is estimated at 20K+.  This Friday, November 22 will be exactly 4 weeks since this happened.  I have tried everything possible to get assistance so that I can schedule my surgery, but I have been unsuccessful. As I mention in my video, I have also reached out to Spartan Race for their liability coverage, but they have said that I don't qualify since I'm categorized as an "independent contractor" - Which is why I am here today, humbly asking for help from all of you...to help me get back on my two legs (literally) so that I can continue doing what I love, which is to Inspire all of you! This is the memorial fund for Kim Anderson.<br /><br />Kim was a beautiful person both inside and out. Unfortunately we are all in an unimaginable position. We are forced to say goodbye too soon. <br /><br />This Tuesday, Kim sadly passed away due to medical complications. She is survived by her loving husband Sean, precious 2 year old daughter Ava and sweet 1 year old son Carter, as well as her loving family and friends. At only 28, her story came to an end too soon. <br /><br />Any donations you can give to help Kim's family in this difficult season of life would be greatly appreciated. <br /><br />Thank you to everyone who has reached out and kept the Andersons in your thoughts and prayers.<br /><br />All donations will go directly to Kim's family.

In the early hours of April 1st ,after working a twelve hr tour, Gregory Gill went home to find pure devastation. His home had become the victim of a horrid fire. Greg was not home at the time of the fire and is lucky to be alive. His dog, Jax, took in smoke and is being treated at the animal hospital. He continues to search through debris to find his cat. Greg has dedicated most of his life to serving others. Protecting others homes from fire, as a volunteer firefighter for the Lyndhurst fire department. He is a role model at the Jersey City Medical Center as a supervisor and field training officer. Greg is not the type to reach out for help as he always knows their are people worse off. Now is the time to rally together for our friend and coworkers. Any amount can help assist as Greg attempts to rebuild.

A Hero Needs Heroes Too

<b>Last night Bob Paranto lost his beautiful daughter Robyn, in a tragic car accident.  This, after numerous other family tragedies, including the death of his wife from an unexpected Aneurysm when his 2 daughters were very young.</b> <b>5 years ago Bob was in a terrible 18 wheeler accident leaving him disabled and in terrible pain every minute of his life. Through all this Bob struggled with little income to raise his daughter Robyn and his mentally disabled daughter Taryn. Robyn was Taryn's whole world. Her hero. And now, without Robyn, Bob is going to need daily help taking care of Taryn.  During hurricanes Irene and Sandy his house was completely flooded, the family lost everything that they owned. No family should ever have to face all of this in a life time.</b>  <b>When you tuck your kids into bed tonight, please say a prayer for Bob, his daughter Taryn, and their beautiful angel "Robyn".  Your financial contribution for Robyn's funeral and Taryn's ongoing care is greatly needed and would be so appreciated.  God bless.</b><br>
