I'm Dr Kirby White, a Central Victorian GP and Victoria's Local Hero from 2021. This campaign has been set up as a central fund to support all Victorian communities affected by the bush fires. Victoria has been declared a State of Disarster and Victorians need your help! As of Sunday 11th January we have over 30 active bush fires burning in extreme unpredictable weather. Over 300 buildings have been lost and many communities shattered. Thousands of people and animals have been evacuated and countless Victorian volunteer firefighters are enduring some of the worst conditions seen this decade. Temperatures over 40 degrees and extreme wind conditions have generated unpredictable weather events. Farming communities have suffered significant losses. Over 300,000 hectares of land is now scorched. Many towns left with no power, water or TV communications. Let's show our support to those men and woman on the front line and to the communities hit hard by this devastating fire event. All funds from this campaign will be: 1) Utilised to support our local hero's fighting these fires voluntarily. Lets help pay their fire services levy!!!! They are saving lives. 2) Will be distributed to all communities affected with support primarily going to those who have lost their house or farm and to assist local Shires in disarster recovery.
