<div>My name is Lib. My son, <strong>McKial</strong>, was recently the victim of a violent crime. He was on his way home from work, and this man cut him off. My son honked at him. This man then slowed down, got behind him, and opened fire with a handgun. He shot from the back of the car, continued to the side, and the front. McKial got shot 5 times. By the grace of God, the only major organs he hit were his lungs. He had 2 chest tubes, but they have recently taken 1 out. One of the bullets broke his dominant arm and also hit him in his hip. It is going to be very difficult for him to do any work, and the vehicle he used to go to and from work is totaled. All my son was trying to do was come home, and he didn't make it. This result of road rage is unfathomable. Anyone could have been a victim, but it ended up being my son. He is in good spirits and has a lot of emotional support from family and friends. <strong>I am asking for funds to help get him a new vehicle and supplement his loss of wages while he recovers.</strong> I appreciate any help we receive.

He then wants to attend school to become a nurse, which makes complete sense since his heart is nurturing and giving. Originally from the Philippians their family now resides here in the US making our community a much better place.

<div>At almost 50 years old, you’d think I couldn’t learn much more about this world we live in. I’ve seen a lot of what she’s capable of and that we all take turns at her mercy, yet here I am on a Tuesday night writing you this story.

<div>I picked up Sailor from school tonight, headed over to Stillwater Walmart to buy a big foam board for Thatcher’s presentation on Friday, so decided to grocery shop. I didn’t prepare a menu and item list like I normally do, so I was just winging it. Last minute dinners included, a veggie lasagna, chicken divan, tofu yellow curry, homemade hamburger hotdish with fake hamburger of course and a few other things. I did my best to fight thru the request of my 12 year old daughters pleads of clothes, make up and pink Starbucks drink.

<div>We made it to our check out line, when my cart is full I always prefer the human interaction.

<div>Sweet, only 2 people in front of me!!!!! A win in itself at Walmart.

<div>It was only about a minute or two in when I realized the woman at the check out was having difficulties with her card. Nothing new at Walmart, happens all the time.

<div>We keep putting our groceries up but now I have one eye on the checkout.

<div>This old lady. All by herself. 2 bags in her big cart, shoving her plastic card in over and over.

<div>As I start to pay more attention, I hear her say “I know it has 300.00 dollars on it”

<div>I think to myself, “man, my card has a 40,000 limit on it.” Not a brag, cause there is no brag in credit. But a reminder to myself that my kids wont be hungry tonight.

<div>I could feel that tense build up of “this is taking too long and becoming awkward” feeling.

<div>I decided to shout out to the cashier “how much is her bill?”

<div>Oh man, I pull out my card, thinking to myself, if my 70 something mom was at Walmart checking out and her card of limited social security funds wouldn’t work, what would I want to see happen for her?

<div>It sure as hell wouldn’t be, embarrassment or snide comments, or eye rolls or people too f*cking busy they cant give a moment of grace to an old lady.

<div>As I'm contemplating life and all the heaviness that tornados us on a daily.

<div>I kid you not.

<div>I watched the cashier at Walmart walk around, pull out his own wallet and say “I got it"

<div>I swear, this old lady had no idea what this young man just did for her.

<div>And I felt like almost anything recently in my life, that this was a direct message to my heart directly from God. Talk about overwhelmed.

<div>I hesitated to pay for these groceries.

<div>I tried to explain what he did was so above and beyond and I was extremely impressed.

<div>I asked “how long have you worked here?” He responded with 2.5 years. “Do you work anywhere else?” I asked. “No, this was my first job ever.” He said. “Are you a student?” I asked, “yes, I go to XXXXXXXXXX high school”

<div>I drove home from that experience and thought to myself at the red light, that’s exactly the children I want to raise.

I ran to my police vehicle to grab my wallet to give him the little cash that I had (about $15) which I didn’t feel is enough. I posted this video on my verified TikTok account (160,000+ followers) and it has gotten over 15k views in 12 hours. Many people asking me where to donate, so here it is.

However she’s still in her clumsy puppy stage. This evening Juno injured herself and now she needs your help. She will need surgery on her leg or could risk it being amputated. My friends are devastated. The surgery will cost roughly of $5000 and poor Juno is in a cast in extreme pain. If you can find it in your hearts any little bit helps. <div>Lucinda Mullins, or Cindy, as most of her friends call her, is a lovely, caring, brave and beautiful young lady who has recently experienced a life-changing tragedy that will leave her as a quadruple amputee. Cindy and her family will have to make a few adjustments to their home to accommodate Cindy's needs as well as her prosthetics and adaptive equipment. The costs of all of this can be overwhelming. We started this fundraiser because we want to support our hero Cindy, as well as her husband DJ who has been by her side every step of the way. Cindy and DJ have two young children who are missing their mom and dad terribly. Sometimes life is hard and there's no way around it. Cindy and DJ's world has come to a complete stop, but the world around them continues to move forward. Let's help ease their burden while they heal and get back to their lives. <div>Brittany Watts suffered an agonizing miscarriage in the bathroom of her home in Warren, Ohio on September 22, 2023.  As she was hemorrhaging and writhing in pain, she had no way of knowing that the miscarriage was only the beginning of her suffering.   She could not have possibly imagined that the most private situation of her life - the same private situation that thousands of women in this country experience every year - would leave her demonized and fighting for her freedom.

<div>Brittany did nothing to cause her miscarriage.  Her doctor had told her that her 21-week pregnancy could not survive, and she would miscarry.  When the bleeding and the pain from the impending miscarriage got severe, she did the same thing that many  women who miscarry at home do.  Brittany went into her bathroom, miscarried into her toilet, and flushed. What happened after that is something that should only happen in Margaret Atwood's Gilead, and certainly not in the United States of America.

<div>Within hours of Brittany's admission to the hospital for her life-threatening hemorrhaging, police removed the toilet from Brittany's home and destroyed it searching for fetal remains.  Brittany, a woman with no criminal history, was charged with felony gross abuse of a corpse, even though there is no Ohio law dictating the "proper" disposal method of the remains of a miscarriage.  On November 2, Brittany sobbed as she sat in a courtroom listening to police officers describe the details of the most intensely personal moments of her life and then vilify her to the world, all while being recorded by local news media.

<div>What is happening to Brittany is truly terrifying.  We must help Brittany as she endures and fights this injustice, and we must ensure that no woman will be victimized this way again.  Those of us who support Brittany are asking you to please contribute to help her as she struggles with legal expenses, home repairs due to the destruction of her bathroom, medical bills, and expenses for trauma counseling. Justice for Brittany Watts

<div>Hi my name is Ashley and normally me and my family are not the ones asking for help but rather giving it. On Sunday November 5th while I was at work my apartment caught fire trapping my daughter and our babies (pets) inside. My daughter and four of our babies were eventually able to get out of but with injuries from being in there so long and my daughter from having to jump out of a tiny window. Two of our babies however were not able to survive the fire one died on seen and one later at Grady veterinary hospital. My daughter spent the night at the hospital and was later released but our home and everything in it was a total loss. We’re asking for any help at all anyone could give for final expenses for our babies and a new home and the things we need to restart our life. It’s not easy for us to ask for help or let the world into our life’s but we feel we now have no other choice we’re starting completely over everything we own, our money anything of value or anything was a total loss in the fire. Anything helps nothing is to small even prayers for us and our babies would be greatly appreciated. <div>Mitch was diagnosed with Giant Cell Myocarditis in March of this year. It is an incredibly rare heart disease that very little data exists for and typically requires heart transplant for survival. He spent 6 weeks at University of Cincinnati Medical Center waiting for a heart transplant. During that time he rode an exercise bike to stay strong and pass the time. He was also put on immunosuppressive drugs which worked to put to the GCM into dormancy. He was released from the hospital and while still on the heart transplant list, it is paused for now.
</div>

</div>
<div>In the middle of September, Mitch spiked a fever of 104 and was taken to UC ED. He quickly declined neurologically and was admitted to the CVICU. Infectious Disease doctors were shocked to finally diagnose him with West Nile Virus (also extremely rare) which in turn caused Viral Meningitis/Encephalopathy. He spent 33 days in the CVICU on a ventilator and has been transferred to Drake Rehabilitation Hospital where he will remain indefinitely.
</div>

<div>Hello, my name is Roynelle Ricks. I have had ambitious aspirations since I was a young child. My dream was to become a doctor and hopefully cure cancer. However, as I grew older, my passion for mathematics grew exponentially. The allure of numbers, patterns, and logic fascinated me in ways that no other subject ever had. <div>Since I was around 6, I have been driven by the passion to know and do more. Living with my family in Monrovia, Liberia I completed high school with an average of 91. Just turning 16, I traveled to Israel on a scholarship to do another two years of high school at Givat Haviva International School (GHIS) for the International Baccalaureate (IB). Even though I had already completed high school in Liberia except for the final West African Examinations, I took advantage of an opportunity, which meant repeating the last two years of high school but broadening my horizon. Being the youngest, I was terrified of what was ahead because, for the first time, I had to leave my parents and siblings. I completed those two years of the rigorous IB program at GHIS in May 2023.

<div>The leap of faith I took by traveling out of Liberia to Israel to attend GHIS, opened my mind to so much that the world has to offer and all I want is to continue learning and exploring more and more: University is my next big step.

Many individuals have reached out wanting to donate towards her care, and any other Pickles awareness media/signs that we get approval for.  I was planning to cover the cost myself and will cover anything that isn’t covered. Any money that is donated above and beyond her needs will be used to start a Fort Walton Beach Stray Cat Community Fund with Pickles being the face of the Fund and story. We often have stray cats come in and need medical care and this will cover those cost. We will create an additional FB page to keep the community updated on what the funds are being used for.
