URGENT: Help Bassem, a Beirut Patient Survive End Stage Renal Failure - Dialysis & Transplant Support Needed. Bassem D. a 76 years old gentleman who worked hard all his life, is in a race against time. He is suffering from End Stage Kidney Failure and depends on peritoneal dialysis (PD) every single day to stay alive while waiting for a life-saving kidney transplant. This is not optional care - it is the only thing keeping him alive. In Lebanon today, even basic survival has become unaffordable. Insurance & public healthcare do not cover his treatment. The ongoing financial and banking crisis since 2019 has made things even worse. His savings - from hard work his entire life - are trapped in the banking system and have lost most of their value. He cannot access what he needs to pay for his healthcare & survival needs. Peritoneal dialysis is not a one-time procedure - it is a daily, continuous treatment that requires strict conditions and constant supplies: Sterile dialysis fluids and tubing for daily exchanges. A dedicated continuous electricity supply in a country with frequent and severe power outages. Ongoing catheter care to prevent life-threatening infections. Medical setup at home. Regular wound care supplies and medical supervision. Ongoing lab tests and monitoring. Costly medications frequently out of stock locally and frequent medical follow-ups. Any interruption can lead to organ failure and death. Without immediate support, his treatment could stop. In many countries, this care would be covered. In Lebanon, patients are left to fend for themselves in the middle of an economic collapse. War has also made things even worse. This is urgent. Every day matters. Your donation, no matter how small, can help keep his treatment going and give him a real chance to survive until a transplant becomes possible. If you cannot donate, please share this campaign. Spreading the word could save his life. In times like these, community is everything. When systems fail, people step in - and that’s exactly what we’re hoping for now. Thank you for standing with him in this critical moment. Together we can give him a fighting chance.
