Gideon received his third dose of chemotherapy today, along with another blood and platelet transfusion. Thank you all again for your continued support and prayers. With the help of our friend Amanda from high school, we have created an Amazon Wishlist for some at home and on-the-go cleaning supplies, gift cards for food while traveling, as well as some things to keep the kids entertained during these long appointments. https://www.amazon.com/registries/gl/guest-view/39QQSKAD593T1?ref_=cm_sw_r_apann_ggr-subnav-share_8M2P7T0D2ZCPZY8ZYRW3&language=en-US
Great news, Gideon was discharged yesterday and is now home! He is definitely glad to be back with his siblings, mom and dad. Going forward he will be getting more lab work done tomorrow and then his next round of chemo is scheduled for Monday. Again, I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for all of the support and encouragement to Gideon and the whole family. It is amazing to see how vast of a community there is to lend support and encouragement. Now that Gideon is home, I’ll be updating the ‘goal’ for this fundraiser. We know there will be a long journey ahead and unexpected costs will come from all directions. We are so incredibly thankful for all of the support so far and will work to keep you all updated for this journey. All the love, Katie
First off, a huge thank you to all those who have shared and donated so far. The response has been absolutely amazing and it’s heartwarming to see what an awesome community Gideon has rallying behind him, both near and far. Here’s how everything has progressed so far and leading up to this whole situation: -a few weeks ago, Gideon fell while playing and had some bruising -9/4, They took him to the walk-in/ER, checked out and sent home. Over time, the bruising continued to get worse. -9/9, they went to the pediatrician where blood work was done and the Leukemia diagnosis was first confirmed. Nason took Gideon to Charlotte to Levine Children’s Hospital for further evaluation. -9/10, B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia type confirmed -9/11, Gideon underwent a bone marrow biopsy, lumbar puncture and surgery for port placement for chemotherapy. -9/11-9/12, Gideon received his first dose of chemo. This is the beginning of the first 29 day cycle of treatment. Hopefully he will be discharged later this week.
Dear Friends, Family, and Community, I'm making this fundraiser on behalf of my sister Crystal and her family. We are reaching out with heavy but hopeful hearts. Recently, Gideon, one of Crystal and Nason's beloved triplets, was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL). While his medical team is highly optimistic about his outlook, navigating a cancer diagnosis while raising triplets brings unique and overwhelming challenges. This is a path our family unfortunately knows well. In 2020, his cousin Addy was also diagnosed with (B-ALL) leukemia. Thankfully, she is now in remission, and her victory gives us immense hope. We know leukemia can be beaten, but we also know the steep toll it takes. Gideon’s treatment center is a little over a 1 hour drive from home. Over the coming months, Crystal and Nason will face endless highway miles, frequent hospital stays, and significant missed work as they split their time between the hospital and keeping life stable for the other two triplets (Markus and McKenzie) at home. We want to ensure they can focus entirely on Gideon’s healing without the crushing weight of financial stress. We are raising funds to help cover: Travel costs: Gas, tolls, and maintenance for frequent 2.5-hour round trips. Medical expenses: Co-pays, prescriptions, and out-of-pocket costs. Lost wages: Offsetting bills and living expenses due to missed work. Sibling support: Help with childcare and daily needs for the triplets at home. Every donation, no matter the size, directly relieves this pressure so his parents can simply focus on being there for their boy. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page and keeping Gideon and his family in your prayers. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love and support. With gratitude, The Wilt Family
