I’m Peyton, and I’m creating this fundraiser for myself and my husband, Bryan, because this year has been heavier than we ever expected. I was diagnosed this year with PTSD, autism, ADHD, persistent depression, OCD, and anxiety. Those answers helped explain so much, but they also made it clear how much support I need right now. Earlier this year, I lost a previous job because of complications related to my disability, and I am now pursuing a case related to that job loss. After that, my mental health declined to the point that I needed inpatient mental health care in June. Since then, I’ve needed ongoing psychiatric care, therapy, medication, and referrals to higher levels of care. More recently, I tried a work-from-home job in August, but after multiple nights of insomnia and missing work for my grandfather’s funeral, I ultimately lost that job as well. My providers have advised me not to work, or to work as little as possible, while I stabilize and wait for my disability case to be reviewed. On top of everything else, I lost my grandfather on August 23, and the grief has made this already painful year even harder. Bryan has been carrying so much, working full time and taking freelance jobs wherever possible. I’ve been doing what I can too by DoorDashing when I’m able and selling belongings, but we are still falling short. Our savings are gone after helping cover a family court case that made it possible for a child we love to safely return home to their mother and receive needed services. How your support will help: this fundraiser will help us cover this month’s rent, along with medication costs, therapy expenses, and gas to get to and from appointments while my disability case is pending and our income is so limited. I am embarrassed and at my lowest, but we are truly doing our best and still struggling. If you’re able to give, please know that we deeply appreciate every single dollar and every bit of support that helps us make it through this time.
