My name is Laura Myslinski, I live in Bellevue NE. I am helping my friend to raise money for his family. This is his story:
Hello everyone,
I am writing to you today from the heart of Gaza, amidst the tents of displacement and the rubble of homes, where the simplest details of daily life have become a bitter struggle for survival.
I am a father, and like any father in the world, my dream and responsibility was to protect my children and provide them with a safe and dignified life. But this brutal, ongoing war has left us with nothing; we were displaced with only the clothes on our backs, having lost everything we owned, and we find ourselves in a reality that defies comprehension and leaves us with no options.
I stand before you today not to ask for luxuries, but to raise my voice for the most basic rights of my child and a group of innocent children around us in the camp, who are facing another silent war: the war of disease, cold, and lack of hygiene. We are in dire and urgent need of diapers and clothing.
In Gaza today, finding a clean diaper or a piece of clothing to protect a child from the cold nights or the summer heat has become a pipe dream. Even if found, their prices are exorbitant, beyond the reach of any father whose livelihood has been completely destroyed by the war. It is a heartbreaking feeling for any father to see his infant crying in pain, with nothing to cover or protect his tiny body.
Why do we need your urgent support now?
Illnesses and Infections: The lack of diapers and the forced use of unsanitary alternatives amidst water and environmental pollution have led to the spread of severe and painful skin infections among children, at a time when medical care is collapsing.
Clothing and Dignity: Our children have been wearing the same worn-out clothes for months, surrounded by dust and mud. As human beings, they have the right to feel clean, warm, and dignified.
Collective Relief: This campaign is not just for my child; it is my attempt to extend a helping hand to a number of displaced families and fathers who are my neighbors in the tents, experiencing the same anguish and helplessness.
Your donation, however small, is a lifeline sent directly from your compassionate hearts to innocent children caught in this war:
It will provide a pack of diapers to protect a baby's body from infections and pain.
It will buy clean clothes to give a child the warmth stolen by war.
It will ease the burden on parents who are nearly overwhelmed with helplessness as they watch their children fall ill before their eyes.
If you are unable to donate financially, please share this campaign link as widely as possible. You are our voice to the world, and your participation could reach someone who has the power to make a difference and save innocent childhoods.
From amidst the rubble and tents of Gaza, and from the eyes of our children yearning for safety, we thank you for your humanity and for standing with us.
