Save My Pregnant Wife and Child Mira From Starvation in Gaza

<div>I am one of the many Palestinians living in the diaspora in the US, who has been desperately trying to find a way to help people on the ground in Gaza. Through mutual friends, I was fortunate enough to get connected with a couple of wonderful people who are so passionate about education. They helped me understand that during times of war, education is just as important as food and water; that thousands of children are going into their second year of war and cannot just wander aimlessly, hungry and devastated, watching death and destruction all around. They reminded me that education is a symbol of much-needed hope at this time and is, in fact, critical for their mental well-being as well as a tool for survival.

<div>Most of the schools in Gaza provide schooling for elementary and middle schools; however, <strong>this initiative aims to support 17-year-old students graduate</strong>. The hope is that one day, once Gaza is rebuilt, they will be able to continue their education and fulfill their dreams. During the war, we were able to put 131 students successfully through their final exams at high school - the picture attached is the school that we built. This was a great start, but we are looking for your help to continue to offer this wonderful opportunity of hope to 400 more students.

Bring Joy to Gaza's Children with Muhammad

<div><strong>This fundraiser is for the Rajila Family. They are a Palestinian family of 10 including 5 small children ranging in ages from under 5 years old to a baby. They also have with them two elderly parents including a mother/grandmother with cancer. The family have become close friends of ours, and we communicate on a near day to day basis. </strong>

<div>This family are nonviolent citizens who have been displaced since the early days of this war when their home and town were bombed and destroyed. They have lost not just their only known home, but many family and friends.

<div>Since the end of October, when the Internet has been working, we have been video-calling with them and getting regular updates on their increasingly worsening situation &amp; have gotten to know them very well.

<div>They have been displaced multiple times going in-between areas experiencing heavy bombardment and open combat for sustained amounts of time with children in tow. Since starting this gofundme one of the men sustained a bullet wound that requires treatment. When speaking with him, he has shared the words below about their lives:

<div><strong><em>Life in Gaza before the war was difficult. We were under a major siege. The electricity was cut off every day for 18 hours. But at least the prices were not as high as today. Barely anyone in Gaza can afford to pay to eat now.</em></strong>

<div><strong><em>Now in the war, the electricity has been entirely cut off for over a 100 days. There is no electricity at all where we are. The situation is very, very bad. We drink polluted water from the environment. There is the spread of epidemics and diseases from this war. There are no hospitals or medicine.</em></strong>

<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong><em>Here, we have seen constantly during the war very, very violent bombing. Here, the martyrs, we meet them on the roads. Children, women, men, civilians. No one can bring them. Here, there is bombing everywhere. </em></strong>

<div><strong><em>We fled to the southern Mawasi area. It is near the sea and now it is the winter. The weather is very cold and extremely harsh with heavy rains. People have no shelter and no way to stay warm. We struggle to find wood to cook with or stay warm. There is no fuel available to anyone and even firewood is scarce and needs to be paid for.</em></strong>

<div><strong><em>The children are always afraid. </em></strong>
</div>
<div><strong><em>Everyone is afraid of the intensity of the violent bombing.</em></strong>

<div><strong><em>My mother has cancer in her eyes and is in a lot of pain and very fatigued. She needs medication we cannot afford or find. She cannot do much. She is not able to make food or anything like that. It is extremely hard for my mother to keep away from the smoke rising from the bombing. The smoke from the bombs makes her condition much worse. </em></strong>

<div><strong><em>The white phosphorus that is being thrown at us all is a major reason for the death of people. It makes us all very sick but especially an elderly person already with cancer. </em></strong>

<div><strong><em>I do not know what the long-term impacts will be to the children from living in these conditions. </em></strong>
</div>

<div><strong><em>My brother was killed by Israel, and most of my family are displaced to other parts of Gaza. They have no shelter or cloth to protect them from the elements. I am constantly worried about my family who is not with me. And for the family that is with me, I am extremely worried about us all being able to be fed and be safe. We go many days without eating sometimes and have no way to gain any income in this situation. </em></strong>

<div><strong><em>We are disconnected from everything and constantly under the threat of death every day.</em></strong>

<div>Despite Al-Mawasi being where Israel has been directing civilians to go, there are no aid organizations willing or able to to take on delivering any kind of aid to Al-Mawasi. In Al-Mawasi, there are even fewer resources available than there were when they were staying in an active combat zone. There is a black market that has sprung up with some people selling resources, but essential items are 15-20x the pre-war cost if they are even available.

<div>Even though Al Mawasi had been declared a "safe zone" for Palestinian civilians by Israel, they are seeing more aggressive bombing in this area now with some families being entirely wiped out.

<div>"Al-Mawasi is a narrow strip of land by the Mediterranean Sea. It has few buildings and largely consists of sandy dunes and agricultural land. The World Health Organization (WHO) said that the plan for al-Mawasi was "a recipe for disaster".

<div>WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said: "Attempting to cram so many people into such a small area with such little infrastructure or services will significantly increase risks to health for people who are already on the brink."
</div>

<div>The United Nations also has wider concerns about the plan. "The situation in Gaza is catastrophic; no one and no place is safe," Andrea de Domenico, the head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (Ocha) told the BBC. "Safe zones declared unilaterally cannot protect civilians", he added. "

<div>From The Times of Israel, "Palestinian aid groups say Israel-designated safe zone in Gaza offers little relief. UNRWA and other organizations say Al-Mawasi area not fit for purpose and are not providing services there; Israel blames UN for poor conditions."

<div>It is a big number, but with 14 in their group that is around $7 US per day or $9.50 CAD a day . Given what they are living through, it's not an extravagant amount of money, but it is still a very high amount to fundraise every month, for as long as this war could possibly go on and likely even longer until adequate aid is coming in.

<div>This family are peaceful people who lived working on the land before the war and they do not know where they will end up yet after the war. They have expressed interest in wanting to come to Canada, which would only be possible through private sponsorship unless/until Canada opens up the border to wider refugees from Palestine. Wherever they end up, they will require a lot of support to help rebuild their lives.

<div>Being from Gaza, this family has lived through MANY wars, with this one being the scariest and most extreme. Many reputable agencies cite the situation of Palestinian civilians as extremely dire and disastrous.

<div>This family has already lost so much and are still experiencing ongoing unending traumas. They only want to survive this war and have a life to look forward to after.

<div>Ibrahim's family has suffered much, even before the war. Ibrahim's father tragically died in 2014 as a result of a traffic accident, leaving Ibrahim responsible as the eldest of 7 siblings. Ibrahim's siblings are Muhammad, Hamza and Zakaria, and Israa, Ghadeer and Hadeel. Sadly, Ibrahim's sister, Ghadeer, and her husband were killed in October, leaving behind their two and a half year old son, Waseem.

<div>Waseem is now an orphan, cared for by Ibrahim and his family. Both Waseem and Maryam are infants/toddlers who are now suffering from malnourishment and disease from dirty drinking water. They have no formula, no good food of any kind, no diapers, and they are living in tents under the constant sounds of drones and bombs, and screams.

<div>Yasmina's family members include her father, Abdullah, her mother, Yousra, her brother, Amir, and her sister Samar.

Urgent Relief for Ibrahim's Displaced Family

<div>In the heart of Gaza, amidst the destroyed alleyways and scattered rubble, lives Ahmed, a man in his thirties. Just yesterday, he was a carpenter, skillfully crafting wood into furniture. Today, he is just another number in a long line of survivors searching for a sip of water or a morsel of food to quell their hunger.

<div>Before the war, Ahmed owned a small workshop where he built children’s beds and dream wardrobes with his own hands. He never imagined that his home, his workshop, and everything he owned would turn to ashes in a single moment. <div>They were displaced and left there lives, homes, families, and dreams. They lost everything they built and planned for, we lost our home, and we lost every penny. As a result of the Israeli bombing near our house, I lost my child while he was in the womb. In this barbaric war, I lost my dream of becoming a mother through in vitro fertilization after 12 years of deprivation without having children.Unfortunately, I lost my house, which I built with painstaking effort, and I have not finished paying for it until this moment. It was targeted by a missile from a warplane, and we are now homeless. We lack the basic necessities of human life. We have been displaced again and again, trying to escape with our lives and the lives of our children to safety. For your information, there is no safe area in all of the Gaza Strip. Unfortunately, we lost our dreams, our homes, our future, some of our relatives, and many of our friends. Our psyche has been shattered and our bodies have been exhausted, which cannot live in these conditions. Help Rita and her family rebuild a new home and provide immediate emergency support by granting an allowance to Rita’s family in light of the high prices and high costs of living in Gaza due to the war, until they reach safety. Every amount, even if it is small, makes a difference in helping Rita now.

Help my family to evacuate from  Rafah-Gaza

<div>War Death Destruction Starvation! Despite the fact that these words are tough enough, they can't describe everything that is happening during the 92 ,so far, days of war in Gaza. My name is Ola Masoud and it happened for me to be in Egypt with my husband( Ahmed Masoud) and my three young daughters before the war began. Unfortunately, this is the thing I regret the most. I really hope to be with my family and suffer with them, not worry about them. My oldest brother Mostafa Masoud and his family are trapped in Gaza under the continuous bombing. They have survived several times carrying only their souls, leaving everything they had behind and looking for a safe place. Since the beginning of the war they have gone through different things including:

<li>Evacuated several times within the north of Gaza trying to find a 'safe' place and then they had no chance but to go to the south of Gaza where they don't know anyone and have no place to go to.

<li>After that, the entire south area of Gaza was forced to evacuate to Rafah ,a small area in the very south of Gaza.

<li>Due to the very large population in such a small area the resources of life became limited and nearly disappeared including: water, food, clothes, electricity, cooking gas and medication.

<li>The hardest thing has always been losing people they love. My niece who is a 14 year-old child( Zaina) has lost her best friend with her entire family. Everyone of us has lost two or more friends and relatives.

<div>And the suffering goes on and never ends. The saddest thing is watching them trying to adapt to the miserable situations. They started cooking using fire by burning wood ,which is very expensive and so hard to buy.

The only way to leave Gaza to a safer place is to cross the borders and to do that you have to pay at least 6000 CAD for each member of my brother's family which is a huge amount of money that we can't manage to pay.

I'm not asking for anything more than the money I need to evacuate my family like food expenses or rent when they get to Egypt since their safety is the most important thing. 54,000 is a huge number but I believe that together and hand by hand we can bring my family to a safer place.
