<div>Ibrahim has found a place for them to live but they need to pay rent in order to stay there. The campaign helps them pay $2000 every month to keep this little stability they have found.

<div>Since Ibrahim has to carry water a long way, he's hurt his back and needs treatment for the pain. His parents also suffer from the situation and need medication. Ibrahim also need to buy food for his entire family. That's why the campaign also help them spend $500 every month for these basic necessities.

Help Ibrahim and his family rebuild their lives in Gaza

<div>Najwa managed to evacuate her family in the very last weeks before the Rafah crossing was closed – leaving behind so many others still trapped in relentless genocidal violence, persecution, and starvation. And yet, families like Najwa’s continue to teach us about resilience, love, and communality – and how we, too, can strive to liberate ourselves from the privileged yet rotten, toxic, hypocritical, and genocide-complicit societies we inhabit.

<div>Since then, Najwa’s family has been waiting endlessly for an interview at the German Embassy in Cairo to begin the family reunification process. In the meantime, Germany has stopped family reunification for people with subsidiary protection – leaving her husband and four children stuck in Egypt, suspended in limbo and uncertainty.
</div>

We have become friends and fellow publishers of the collection of her short stories and poems. Najwa is the bravest person we know and a brilliant poet. We want to help her get her family out of Gaza.

<div>My name is Najwa Juma, a Palestinian currently residing in Germany. I am a writer and woman activist who has always fought for human rights and women's rights. I worked as a teacher, translator, and writer in Gaza for years, but then I had to leave Gaza as I received a fellowship for writers at risk in Germany. Due to the political situation in Palestine and the ongoing violence to which Gaza is exposed, I have decided to seek asylum in Germany.
</div>

<div>Unfortunately, my husband, and my four children; Layan, Nissan, Ahmad, Omar, and Luna (our cat) are now all stuck in Gaza due to the blockade forced by Israel and Egypt on the borders. Since October 7, I have been praying for my loved ones to survive Israel's ongoing attacks, as well as the lack of food, water, and medicine.
</div>

<div>I tried to evacuate my family through the General Consulate of Germany in Jerusalem, but unfortunately, I was informed that in my case this is not possible until I receive a decision on family reunification, which could be soon as my lawyer informed me.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My family survived death many times and had to evacuate to the southern of Gaza, where they took shelter in my father's house, and soon after they had to evacuate the entire area minutes before my father's house in the city of Khan Younis was destroyed.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>While my family took refuge in one of UNRWA's schools in Khan Younis, the school was targeted and they survived death for the third time. Meanwhile, I struggled to evacuate my family and they struggled to find shelter and food, we lost our house in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood. The house was targeted by Israeli tanks after they invaded our neighborhood.

<div>The process of getting out of Gaza is expensive. The cost of crossing from Gaza to Egypt is more than $7,000 per person. I had no choice but to ask for your help to cover the high costs of getting out of the dragon's mouth. We appeal for your solidarity! Your donation can help my family find safety and start their lives again. All funds raised will go directly towards the cost of moving my family from Gaza to Egypt. Other accommodation costs in Egypt, German visa fees, and other basic needs will be covered by ourselves.

New Parks and Braunstone Frith are home to a foodbank each. I volunteer for them each week and I see firsthand what the impact of Westminster's disdain for the poorest among us looks like.

<div>The target is £3000. If we hit that, I will do another century ride. One hundred miles. One very silly person (me). One bicycle. And this time.... that bicycle will be a Brompton.

Foodbanks IV: 1 Broadwell, 1 Brompton, 100 miles!

<p>Misery was created to support the mental health and collective care of our community; queer, transgender &amp; intersex Black &amp; people of colour (QTIBPOC), following the suicide of a friend. <br /><br /><strong>Over the last two years, we have held 21 free community healing events, supporting over 1200 individual members of our community.</strong><br /><br />As a peer-led collective, we would like to raise at least £15,000 to continue responding to the needs of our community, expand in ways that ensure the sustainability of the collective, and keep on facilitating joy for QTIBPOC through our free and accessible therapeutic programmes such as our Misery Meets healing spaces, Misery Moves embodied dance workshops, and a herbal healing programme centering mental health. <br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/54379244_1612568780302069_r.jpeg" alt="54379244_1612568780302069_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />

<p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">MORE ABOUT MISERY </span><br /><br /></strong>The QTIBPOC community is disproportionately affected by suicide, homelessness, and harmful substance use to only name a few, and since 2019 Misery has worked to provide the community with the resources, support, and joy that it deserves. <br /><br /><strong>We champion practices of community care, accessibility, and ancestral modes of healing and are known for hosting sober parties (<a href="https://www.timeout.com/london/nightlife/londons-best-qtipoc-parties" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">arguably some of the best</a>), workshops, performances, healing circles, skill &amp; resource-sharing, and other events centered around harm reduction and therapeutic practices. </strong><br /><br />When Covid-19 made it impossible for us to hold space face to face, Misery responded with a series of online events that would be educational and soothing at a time when mental health struggles have been exacerbated for most. From March - December 2020, Misery ran Misery Meets, a monthly healing circle, and workshop designed to support the mental health of QTIBPOC. The sessions were guided by therapist-in-training, <a href="https://sabahchoudrey.com/about-2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sabah Choudrey </a>who facilitated conversations around issues relevant to the community such as addiction, grief, pleasure, family, confidence, and sexual health.
</p>

<p><strong>We want to continue offering free events to sustain our community’s wellbeing throughout 2021 and beyond, but we need your help!</strong><br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/54379244_1612375740547196_r.jpeg" alt="54379244_1612375740547196_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><span style="font-size:1.0625rem;">Misery is self-funded, while always ensuring that volunteers, artists, and contributors get paid fairly, leaving little to no money to securely plan and fund our range of upcoming projects. For the first time, we are asking for donations from our friends, the community, and those outside of our community who can afford to support QTIBPOC community care.</span><br /><br />We want to keep providing for any and all queer, trans, and intersex individuals that want or need us, for all generations, for those who yearn for sober spaces or don’t always feel comfortable at the club, for those seeking resources and validation, and for those who look to community for fun, care, and support. Our goals are rooted in ensuring Misery can be sustained and developed long-term, and this comes down to funding.
