<div>In recent days, <strong>Nepal</strong> has faced a heartbreaking tragedy. Peaceful protests against corruption and injustice turned into scenes of violence, where young people — <em>full of hope and dreams</em> — were met with bullets instead of answers.

<div>Dozens of youth and even children have been shot. Some passed away instantly. Others are now lying in hospital beds, fighting for their lives. Families who once had bright futures in their children now face only silence, loss, and uncertainty.

<div>Among those we lost was 24-year-old Rashik Khatiwada.
</div>
<div>Rashik<strong> </strong>grew up in Kathmandu, with his permanent home in Kavre. He was the only son of his family — their pride, their joy, and their hope for the future. On that tragic day, Rashik was shot in the chest. His parents lost everything in an instant. The emptiness left in their home cannot be described in words.

<div>Rashik was not just another name in the news — he was close to us, a dear friend, like a brother. His laughter, kindness, and spirit touched everyone around him. To lose him in such a cruel and senseless way has left a wound that will never heal.

<div>But Rashik’s story is not alone. It reflects the pain of so many other families across Nepal who have lost their children to this fight for justice and peace. Mothers and fathers have buried their only sons. Brothers and sisters cry for siblings who will never come home. Youth with dreams of a better Nepal now lie in hospital beds, struggling for recovery.

<div>My name is Samir Maharjan, I am from Kathmandu, Nepal. I am a sound healer and community worker who has supported people during past crises such as the 2015 earthquake and the Covid lockdown.

<div>Rashik Khatiwada, one of the victims, was my close friend — like a brother to me. His family lives in Kavre, though he grew up in Kathmandu. He was only 24 years old, their only son, and their greatest hope. Tragically, he was shot in the chest during the protest and passed away. Alongside Rashik, many other young people were injured or killed in this tragedy.

<div><strong>Why We Are Raising Funds</strong>

<div>We cannot bring back the lives lost. But together, we can ease the crushing burden these families now carry.

<div>Every rupee collected will go directly to affected families. Our first priority will be the parents who lost their only child, like Rashik’s family. The second priority is covering urgent hospital costs for the injured.

<div>In the past, we have tried to do our part during difficult times in Nepal. During the devastating 2015 earthquake, we used our own personal funds to provide help. During the Covid lockdown, we distributed food to people on the streets when they had nothing.

<div>We never asked for outside support before. But today, this tragedy is far greater than we can carry alone. That is why we are opening this fundraiser — so together, we can help the families of the youth we lost, including Rashik, and those still injured.
