Trans Asylum Seekers

Just recently, 8 inspirational transgender women from Central America, Honduras, El Salvador and Mexico have been released from the Cibola County ICE Detention center after months of unnecessary prolonged detention.   These amazing and brave women came to the United States seeking refugee from horrific violence, discrimination, and transphobia in their home countries only to be locked up by the U.S. government.

Now, thanks to the hard work of so many advocates, organizations, lawyers and organizers--and the incredible strength and resiliency of the women-- they have been released on parole and allowed to fight their cases from outside detention with the support of friends and family.

Asylum has just been granted to two strong transgender women from Honduras and Nicaragua.  Both from the 1st caravan and the 2nd caravan that arrived to the U.S.

We are seeking any and all donations people are able to provide in order to purchase clothing, luggage, food, and travel tickets to unite these women with their sponsors and family across the country. Donations of any size are a tremendous help in bringing these women one step closer to finding the peace and refugee they have journeyed so far for.

Dozens more women are detained at the Cibola Detention Center and set to be released in the next few weeks.
