Adaptive Hiking in Prince Rupert

Donation protected

I am a Rehabilitation Assistant living in Prince Rupert, BC and I am currently trying to fundraise for a Trail Rider in our community. A Trail Rider is an adaptive bike that allows people of all abilities and disabilities to get outdoors and hike. I am passionate about sharing my love for the outdoors with others and making our trails accessible to everyone. This rural community located in our wild and beautiful Northwest Coast has a population of 12,508 people and amongst this population there are many people who would benefit greatly from the use of this adaptive equipment.
As this is a rural Northern community we do not have many resources for people with disabilities to access our trail network and  enjoy the outdoors.  Within our community and in the surrounding area there are many accessible trails in which a Trail Rider could easily be managed. We are fortunate that many of our beautiful trails lead alongside the ocean, rivers, and waterfalls. Getting outside with friends and family and staying in touch with wildlife can be therapeutic and great exercise and should be made available to everyone. Any donations would be greatly appreciated! I have managed to track down a used Trail Rider for the cost of $3500. If you know of anyone who would benefit from acces to this equipment or wants to get involved feel free to donate or contact me via facebook or gofundme. Cheers friends. Thanks for taking your time.
