For nearly 10 years, Titwrench has been more than just another DIY music festival - it has been an art lab, an incubator of radical ideas, a reunion, a meeting place, a place for progressive thought and ideas and a labor of love, organized and operated by volunteers.
Our 9th annual festival line-up features 33 artists from across the U.S., and we need your help to make the magic happen at at the legendary Mercury Cafe, August 25 and 26th 2017!
Your contribution$ will help sustain and expand the critical work of Titwrench programs:
*Lifting up music and performance by women and LGBTQ+ artists creating and composing within a wide variety of boundary pushing genres and forms
*Educating communities by offering affordable and/or free interactive workshops and skillshares
*Sustaining an inclusive space for engaging, weird, accessible art and music for people of all ages, expressions and identities
* Bringing experimental composition and performance and critical work that questions social norms/structures to the fore!
* Amplifying collectively organized culture (we call it D.I.T. = Do it Together!)

Funds raised through this campaign will go directly to our artists, workshop facilitators and operations:
Design $300
Venue $500
Live sound engineering & recording $500
Merchandise $900
Local performer fees $1600
Touring artist fees $1200
Airfare and hospitality for headlining artists $4000
We are excited to announce that 10% of all funds raised at the door of Titwrench 9 this year will go to a local grassroots effort, W.E.B.S. of Support!
ROOTS
Titwrench Fest began in 2008, when a crew of friends consisting of artists, misfits, weirdos, musicians, students, teachers, writers and music promoters got together to create the festival we had been waiting for-- one that showcased women and LBGTQ+ musicians and artists, and prioritizied a radical inclusiveness and safer space, unlike most commercial festivals. As for the name, we thought it was bold and made us giggle too ;)
Our festival offers something different than the norm, and our ticket prices don't break the bank.*
By creating inviting and inclusive spaces for intergenerational connection, musical discovery, education and community for people of all ages, we are also fostering new events, bands and communities in the process and we think that's enormously valuable.
*We even offer donation based tickets for students and seniors.
What else happens at Titwrench?
Educational classes and hands-on skillshares are an integral part of Titwrench Fest! This year we will be hosting free and low-cost workshops on an array of topics:
- DIY marketing and promotion for working artists
- Qi Gong for all levels
- Vocal techniques and tips
- Making beats and tracks for beginners
- Performance 101 - Getting over stage fright
- Community yoga with live music
