West Hollywood City Council Run

Donation protected
Hello, my name is, Timothy Williams. In order to create tomorrows in which all residents of West Hollywood can achieve, prosper and thrive, I need your vote on Election Day, March 5, 2019. Over the next 12 months I plan to walk all 1.9 square miles of our creative city and personally introduce myself to each resident. And, tell them why I am best to represent their values on City-Council. The voter registration deadline is February 18, 2019. Meaning, I have one year to build the #TW2019 Five-Thousand-Strong Victory Coalition and I want you! Please visit www.LAVote.net to confirm you are eligible to vote in the city of West Hollywood.

I am running because I must in order to make better the lives of my fellow WeHo residents. It is all I think about. Moreover, your support will afford our campaign the ability to maintain our www.wehoTim.org domain, purchase web-hosting with Nationbuilder.com (a political campaigning service used by candidates), purchase advertising and hire staff.

I first became Interested in politics during fall of 1994, as a first-grader attending Crooked Creek Elementary School in Indianapolis, Indiana. We were asked to write about someone we admire or want to be like. I chose Thurgood Marshall, the first black US Supreme Court Justice. I admire Justice Marshall’s eloquent judicial opinions almost as much as his pioneering spirit. He was but one man courageous enough to change the way in which the world saw people of color and bring diversity to the highest court in the land.

When people ask from where it is I come, I say: I was born in Indianapolis, I grew up in the Tampa Bay Area and now West Hollywood is home. And, our home is in the midst of a housing crisis. If you disagree just ask the 1000+ (former) residents who were forcibly ousted over 2017 (as per an unnamed City official). Fitting 34,000 WeHoans into 1.9 square miles can be problematic and when I see a problem I act. Initially, I lobbied in favor of new developments featuring 20% of available units reserved for lower-income-residents and now its time to take part in governing. This will not be easy but I am equal parts brown and bold, and I have a plan which advocates for you. We will never see our world changed if we do not get involved. And since I know you are so busy, I am gonna run for you. Visit www.wehoTim.org to join our movement to diversify West Hollywood City leadership with a fresh perspective.

This race is about you so, please use #TW2019 in your posts to be counted as part of our TW2019 Five-Thousand-Strong Victory Coalition. I am not in this race because I have all the answers. I am in this race because I care enough to work together with opposing forces to uncover answers to the big questions facing WeHoans and Americans alike. My name is Timothy Williams and I want to be your next City of West Hollywood Councilperson, but first I need your support. Together, we will create tomorrows in which all can achieve, prosper and thrive. Together we will make “herstory”. Thank you and God bless the City of West Hollywood and All who call her home.
