The Opal House provides a a safe place to live for 19 women in recovery who would be homeless if it were not for Opal House.
They have been without heat/hot water/cooking stove because the gas company turned the service off when they detected a leak. They have expenses related to the gas company responding on Saturday and again on Sunday which they are charging for because it was an internal issue. Then an emergency call to a repair company to come and repair the leaks. They have had to purchase space heaters to partially heat the house for the 3 days they have been without gas service. Help is needed to keep these ladies in their home for the holidays!
Founder Cheryle McCourt does a beautiful job guiding these ladies in their recovery. This large unexpected expense jeopardizes her ability to continue to do so. Our community cannot stand to lose any tool that fights the epidemic of addiction!
