Hello all,
We are writing this with the intention to help support our dear brother Joe Ciarrocchi and his family, who are facing the difficult challenge of Stage IV cancer.
Our brother Joe was diagnosed with Stage IV esophageal cancer that has spread to his liver and lymph nodes. He has always kept up with annual exams and keeping himself healthy. In October 2018 Joe developed a cough and wasn’t feeling well. He had been to several doctors and thought he was experiencing his usual fall allergies, which sometimes caused him to cough. He then developed acid reflux and was struggling with eating, began losing weight and his cough worsened. While continuing to see several doctors and waiting to see a gastroenterologist, his symptoms worsened. After a trip to the urgent care center, he was told to immediately go to the ER. Further testing resulted in the devastating cancer diagnosis. Joe and his wife Laura were completely stunned.
It has been a difficult several months with a few hospital stays and a frightening liver failure scare. He is choosing to face his diagnosis of cancer with a “fighting spirit”, despite his illness keeping him from returning to work over the past months.
We don’t know what the coming weeks will bring but please lend a hand and help us make sure Joe is surrounded by as much love and support as possible along this difficult journey. The money raised from this page will be used to provide financial assistance for medical bills and to help support Laura with their two children, Hope and Noah.
