The Drive against Parkinson's!

$3,080 of $15,000 goal

Raised by 43 people in 3 months
The Mission of the Dave Parker39 Foundation  is educate the public about Parkinson’s Disease, provide help and information to patients and care givers and help fund research for a cure!

Dave, is a 19 yr. MLB alum, who developed Parkinson’s a few years ago. Our foundation is focused on providing education for folks with Parkinson’s, and especially their caregivers.

As the event coordinator for the Dave Parker39 Foundation , I'm always looking for ways to help expand our reach and increase funds to better fulfill our Mission. When my adult son said to me and a buddy, "You should take the Newport, from Newport to Newport", we knew it was a terrific fund raising idea! With your help we can bring our story to folks throughout the country!

All proceeds are used in fulfillment of our Mission. No officers, directors or others receive a salary or income from funds raised. We have limited administrative costs, such as printing, postage, etc that are incurred in the performance of our Mission, providing education about PD for patients and caregivers.  The rest goes to research for a cure. Check out our Guide Star rating at: www.guidestar.org or  https://www.guidestar.org/profile/46-4058823  and see what we do at www.daveparker39foundation.com.

Donate as little or as much as you like and know that 100% of the funds received by the Dave Parker39 Foundation will go to the fight against Parkinson's Disease! Just think if everyone who sees this page and video and all of their friends donated just$5,00 and share it with their friends who did the same, we would hit our goal in no time!!

This trip will be about 2500 miles and will include stops in Newport PA, Newport DE., Newport News VA. Newport NC, and Newport TE., before returning to newport KY. You can follow us on FB, Twitter and Snap Chat.
Any questions or wish to support us and our trip in any other way, (Gas cards, Hotel accommodations, personal appearances along the way, other ideas?) contact Doug King , Event Coordinator, The Dave Parker39 Foundation. dougking51@msn.com or 513-702-2910.

Dear Sponsors and Friends of the Dave Parker39 Foundation;
On behalf of Dave and Kellye and everyone associated with the Dave Parker39 Foundation, we wanted to thank you for all of your help during 2018.
While the year isn’t technically over, and we hope to still receive some gifts and donations via Giving Tuesday and end of the year donations, as well as support for the Drive Against Parkinson’s that are still coming in, we thought a report was in order.
2018 has been a good year for the Foundation, both in terms of funds raised and efforts to actualize our Mission. Whether direct donations, sponsorships, golfing in the Cobra Classic, supporting the Drive Against Parkinson’s, or the donations of goods and services, we couldn’t have done it without your help!
We plan to make our annual contribution to the UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute and in fact increase it some.
In addition, this year we will look for a local Parkinson’s patient who may need assistance in making their residence more handicap accessible or assistance with caregiver services. This process has begun as we are asking the PD community for recommendations of people with PD who could use some help.
Educational Events: We were able to hold two Educational Events in 2018 thanks to the help of our generous friends at Chesterwood Village and Carmel Manor who hosted the events. We wanted to thank everyone involved for all their help and assistance in making them come off without a single issue. Thanks specifically to; Dr. Vaughn and Dr. Merola of UC Gardner for their interesting presentations on treatments and possible treatments; Rebecca Payne, Therapy Services Manager at Chesterwood Village and Courtney Schott, PHD -OT the Rehab Manager at Carmel Manor for their excellent presentations on therapy programs and Matt Daniels of Rock Steady Boxing, NKY who spoke at both events on the value of exercise in fighting the effects of PD.
Thanks to Scott & Joy Layman of Putting 4 Parkinson’s for sponsoring the Boys of Summer- Second Base and the visit by Dan and Robert Cochrane. Along with The Mariemont Theater and the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum for holding showings and Brandicorp for providing accommodations. This April event during PD Awareness Month, was important for the PD Community in Cincinnati.
Thanks to The Cincinnati Reds for holding a Give Back Night in April -Parkinson’s Awareness Month! Thanks to those who bought tickets and even turned out on a cold wet April night. And watch for info on the 2019 date- tentatively planned for April 24th vs the Braves, tickets should be available for Christmas gifts.
Thanks to the folks at 16 Lots in Mason, who were kind enough to hold a fundraiser in September and Dan Davis and the Cindicate Jazz Band for entertaining!
And of course, The Cobra Classic! Thanks to CRC for a great job, Glenview was in wonderful shape, the staff couldn’t have done a better job! Thanks to all the Celebs who entertained our golfers, Sponsors who made it all possible and the volunteers and golfers- we couldn’t do it without the support of all of you!
It has been a busy year and we hope to make 2019 even better! Thanks to all of you for your support!
