#TalkTLC is a campaign that has been set-up by our charity, Community Project, with one simple aim; to come together as a community to support adults in social isolation or who feel invisible, and break the cycle of loneliness.
Why are we raising money?
To support people who are socially isolated and feel invisible in their community, we are launching a 24hr 7 day a week support line to provide a friendly voice to those who need someone to talk to.
We are also building a network of TalkTLC venues to offer a friendly first step to those who may fear social rejection and would benefit from a friendly welcoming social enviroment.
To run our support line it will cost £42 per day. We can only do this the support of generous donations from the community. Thank you for your support. Together we can break to cycle of loneliness.
About TalkTLC
It is estimated that four in every ten adults living the UK today are chronically lonely, with five million of us admitting to having no real friends or anyone we would trust enough to really open up to.
Loneliness can be an all-consuming feeling, and prolonged loneliness can leave us with mental and physical health illness, which could have a lasting affect on our lives. It is not just the older generation that experience loneliness; it can affect all of us, at any age or stage in our lives. In fact, chronic loneliness is such an epidemic that the British government has appointment a ‘Minister for Loneliness’ to tackle the problem.
The #TalkTLC campaign aims to stamp out loneliness in as many communities as possible. If you are chronically lonely, would like to join a cause that supports people exactly like you, or would simply like a friend to talk to, then we are here to help.
