Please help us support Cara in her first year of grieving.
When death occurs naturally, it can be hard enough. When there is tragedy connected with it, when it is inexplicable and sudden, it produces endless layers of grief and confusion.
Jon was a man who was caring and gentle. His beautiful heart and spirit have no replacement. We are lucky to have known him, and we are lucky to have seen the great love he shared with our friend, Cara. We have hardly seen two people better matched than they. It was obvious to all who met them.
Nobody saw this coming. It is profoundly painful to use the word suicide, and we deliberated leaving that fact out of our ask. But the truth, we feel, is needed. We are greatly concerned about the pressures of the world pressing on Cara while she is trying to heal her shattered life. Our aim is to support her for the coming year so that scrambling to meet expenses doesn't complicate the difficult work of the grieving process.
Please contribute to support our friend. The “goal amount” stated reflects a level of security we would love to see for her. With no monetary backup and Jon being the main wage earner of the household, we set a “reach” amount to cover mortgage payments, household bills, living expenses, and any costs incurred settling his affairs.
