Stopping alternative lunches

I would like to start this fund to pay off all Lincoln Consolidated schools lunch accounts that have a balance of over $15... this is not a lash out at the schools this is to help the chidren of our community.please read on to understand why...
Today I had a very disheartening situation happen with my 8 year old daughter. She text me letting me know that she didn't have anymore money in her account. I thought well that's strange that she is texting me that as I usually get a note or a phone call or something reminding me to pay her account. So I questioned her and and asked if they gave her a lunch. She said yes bologna and cheese sandwich chocolate milk and an orange, but she couldn't eat it because it has dairy in it and the orange was too hard to peel. She has a severe allergy to all dairy and the school has it documented everywhere including her lunch account after several phone calls she was finally able to eat... after 1pm. The school apologized over and over but Aside from the issue with her food came the question why did I not know she owed a balance at all? I paid her account plus some as I always do and saw the amount owed was $15.75... perplexed that such a small amount warranted an "alternate" lunch. When I questioned what amount an account must be before this happens I was told $15.00. They had a glitch in their system and forgot to tell us she had a balance owed... what? My child was humiliated she sat at her lunch table crying all because her lunch account was over by $0.75 of the limit? What other children go through this everyday because they just don't have any other means to pay? That is only 7 days worth of lunches. Some parents only get paid ever 2 weeks or can't pay that amount now for what ever reason. Some are just over the limit of qualifying for reduced or free meals and are stuck with trying to figure out how to get their kids lunch accounts paid down... No child should be humiliated and given any less of a lunch than their friends because their parents are unable to pay off their lunch account at that exact moment... please consider donating to get these accounts reset so all of the kids can actually "BELONG" and not be singled out
