Stop LUNCH Shaming our Kids

At our lower elementary school, in Camden County NJ, Friday, June 8, 2018, roughly 20 children were called down over the PA system one by one to the school library to be excluded from the School's field day. These children were called down ONLY for overdrawn lunch accounts.
Our school is a Title 1 PreK-3rd grade school with a population of over 480 students, in a district with 4 lower elementary schools, 2 upper elementary schools, a middle school and high school.
Our NEW policy, NOT listed in our handbook is to SHAME and BULLY children for parents that cannot pay their lunch bill.
The most vulnerable population is being excluded, bullied and shamed by our Administration in an attempt to collect a debt from the parents.
These children will now also be EXCLUDED from the 3rd Grade concert on Tuesday, June 12 because of lunch balances, as well as, any other activity that takes place at the end of the year, which for our school is June 19.
I am collecting money in the a quicken frenzy to make these overdrawn accounts positive and give these children a chance to participate in the events they worked so hard for.
Yes, folks in the USA, in NJ, in 2018 we LUNCH SHAMED children 3-10 years old.
