It's Official! We are adopting!!!
We are excited to announce that after a long wait, it's official... We are adopting. We have been praying for this for a long time and know that many of you have been praying for us as well. We cannot express how much your prayers, love and support have meant to us during this whole process.
Now, we could use your help to bring our girl home. She is 13 years old and lives in Virginia (we'll give more details when it is appropriate and when we can). We don't know a definite timeline just yet, but we are anticipating she will be home in 6-8 weeks (Around mid Sept.).
This is not a typical adoption from foster care so there are a few more expenses than we had anticipated (if you want to know more about why this is not a typical adoption, private message us and we will share what we can). With that being said, we are looking at a total budget (not including what we have already spent) of about $15200. This budget includes agency fees, lawyer fees, travel expenses and some things that we will need for home and school.
We already have about $6,900 in saved money and grants, which leaves a deficit of $8300** (see updated note below). So, that is our goal... $8,300.

We have finally talked to lawyers and got the rest of the fee schedule and have updated our budget to $8800... Hopefully this will be the last update we have to make!
