MY PROJECT:     Olivet Heavenly Harvest

Community Garden Welcome Station

My name is Ralph Lamberti, and I am currently a Boy Scout in Troop 19 from Staten Island, NY.  The final stage for me to obtain the rank of Eagle Scout is to complete my Eagle Scout Service Project.

I am proud to announce that my project will be for the benefit of the Olivet Heavenly Harvest, a community garden supported by Olivet Presbyterian Church.

My project will be to design and construct a welcome station for a local community garden. The project will include a compost input area for public drop-off of composting materials, and a stand to hold the harvested vegetables for the community to take home.

The Community Garden

My project extends beyond the parish community to include the surrounding neighborhood. What I am creating will both increase visibility and awareness of the community garden, and also increase overall efficiency of the operation.

Additionally, it is educational for the kids that go to the garden, as it will teach them more about the whole process. My project should create a greater cohesiveness of the neighborhood and give a greater access to food for the needy.

First day of site planning

Additionally, there will be some general beautification of the surrounding area in the garden, including borders around existing vegetable beds and the insulation a picnic bench and ornamental shrubs.

Any donation to my project would be greatly appreciated.

All funds raised will go directly to :
