Well-known Las Vegas champion and supporter Leveo Sanchez donated $10,000 to MainStreet de Las Vegas. This donation must be matched with $10,000 in community donations by 12/31/22. Due to the fire, floods, and the pandemic, we have not been able to fundraise normally in the past year.

Current Main Street projects include a $2.2 million renovation of Las Vegas' historic Railroad District funded through Great Blocks on Main street and New Mexico Main Street, a much-needed wayfinding project to help visitors get around town funded by the City of Las Vegas Lodger's Tax, a new community garden and art park, and a city-wide mural project funded in part with the Las Vegas' first National Endowment for the Arts grant.

Main Street de Las Vegas Community partners include the City of Las Vegas, New Mexico Highlands University, the Las Vegas Arts Council, the Hermit’s Peak Watershed Alliance, the Las Vegas-San Miguel Chamber of Commerce, San Miguel County, Las Vegas First International Business Alliance, Sunrise Kiwanis, Kiwanis International, and the Rotary Club Of Las Vegas.

The mission of MainStreet de Las Vegas is to unify the landmark commercial corridor and engender pride in the community while promoting economic development and preserving historical, cultural, architectural, and natural resources through partnerships and community collaboration.

Our vision is to help create a unique and vital downtown that supports our business community, embraces history, celebrates the arts, preserves our natural environment and promotes quality events to instill a sense of place in our community. Downtown Las Vegas, New Mexico, will continue to grow and develop due to continued support from our volunteers, local businesses, partner organizations, and sponsors. They all believe that a healthy downtown is vital to the health of the entire community.
