Empower Slum Youth In India

Shadow Box Charitable Trust  is a humanitarian organization focused on providing opportunities and hope to slum youth in Mumbai, India.  Simply put, we aim to empower and strengthen those that are battling roots of disadvantage.



While we are undoubtedly invested and active in the humanitarian effort to provide basic necessities, our primary drive is rooted in building a sense of empowerment through providing education and opportunities to learn and grow a sense of self.  The most enduring gifts are those that provide impactful experiences and skills that result in a rich sense of identity and self-worth.  We do this by partnering up with musicians, dancers, athletes, teachers, and anyone willing to join us in helping these children develop a new part of themselves.  We provide a safe space to convene and be creative, as well as the technology and resources necessary to achieve these goals.


We do our best to make sure basic necessities are available...then we invite youth to come have fun, learn, laugh, and smile their way into a tight knit community and relentless support system.  We do not drop into slums periodically to dump goods.  We live here, are from here, or have developed a deep connection to this community - Dharavi is our heart, and we intend to keep it beating strong.



We rely on our compassionate supporters to continue providing opportunities and basic needs to our talented children, and the community of Dharavi.
