A Service Trip to Nepal

Throughout the past year, I have been dedicating a lot of time in service. I have gone on one alternative Spring Break trip, to Chacraseca, Nicaragua where I helped build a house, worked in a local school, and built an eco-stove. Every new experience during this trip seriously changed my life.
This year, I have been accepted to student-lead a service trip to Nepal with an organization called Volunteers Initiative Nepal. We will be helping to build toilets, and potentially help with last years earthquake damages. We will be living with our host family and working in the local school. I am so excited to immerse myself in yet another culture and soak up every moment!

While being a student leader for this trip, I am responsible for interviewing students who are interested in going on the trip, preparing for group meetings and reflections, and being a helpful resource during stressful situations.
In addition to this trip, I participate and lead service events with The Center for Service at Champlain College. I have done countless hours of service, and I am only a sophomore! I only expect to be more involved by the time I am a senior. Service is something I love to be apart of.
I realize that some people are skeptical while using GoFundMe, because it does take away 5% for their services, but it is a very safe site, and have always been super helpful. Any extra money that I raise, will be donated to Volunteers Initiative Nepal (VIN).
I am extremely thankful for all of the love and support I have already received, it means so much to me. If you are unable to donate, that is okay too, asking about the trip and sending motivational messages during the months leading up to my trip are just as helpful! <3
