Help Bernie Delegate Get to Philly

UPDATE: Thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am in awe of the generosity and kindness you all have shown me. I also want to specifically thank my generous anonymous matching donor. I am so grateful for that incredible gift. I wish there were words to express how deeply thankful I am. I hope my actions, now and through the convention, demonstrate it. 

I am going to leave my campaign open so that I can share pictures and videos from the convention with all of my amazing donors, but I am NOT fundraising through it (although I am still hosting an already-scheduled local garage sale fundraiser). 

I will share updates with everyone during and/or after the convention and I will mail #PostCardsFromPhilly while I am on the ground during the #DNC2016.

Hello fellow Berners! My name is Elizabeth Wilke and I am honored to have been elected as a pledged delegate for Bernie Sanders
from Illinois' 11th Congressional district to the Democratic National Convention. I've admired and followed Bernie for a decade, since my favorite poly sci professor introduced me to him, but I became involved in the campaign a year ago.

I have spent hundreds of hours (maybe more?) canvassing, phonebanking, traveling across 3 states to volunteer including Iowa to GOTV, fundraising, attending Bernie meetings, volunteering at Bernie events in Illinois and Iowa, and currently working to organize the Illinois Bernie delegation as well as work with other Bernie national delegates across the country so we're united and strong at the convention! 

Bernie also inspired me to run for precinct committeewoman as well as a board position in my local Democratic Party, both of which I won. I also helped to slate a Berniecrat so she could get on the ballot for a State Rep race. Like Bernie says, change comes from the bottom up and this revolution  won't be televised! 




I care very deeply about improving the future of our country and I can't wait to cast my delegate vote on behalf of over 30,000 Illinois voters who sent me to this convention and deserve the bright and secure future Bernie’s policies offer.

But I can’t do it without your help. The Democratic Party projects each pledged delegate will need around $5,000 to attend the convention. However, I don’t anticipate needing to raise that in its entirety.

I've been saving up every extra vacuum penny to fund this and I'm sharing the hotel room and transportation (where possible), so I should only need a boost of about $3,000. That will help me cover the room at $726.50 per night for 5 nights, a meal allowance and travel to and from the Wells Fargo Center which is six miles from the required hotel the Party had us book into.

If there are any excess funds after my expenses are finalized, they will be donated 100 percent to down-ticket progressive Democrats and Berniecrats to help them win their elections.


I'm a married mother of three awesome children: one teenage son and two young daughters. I was a teenage mother who worked full time for $5.25 an hour while attending college full-time and I'm still in student loan debt.  That's not the future I want for my children. 


 It is indeed time for a political revolution and that cannot be accomplished from the sidelines. The changes Bernie is calling for will benefit ALL of us. Not just some of us. 

So please, if you're able, send me a donation and help me fight for Bernie. My voice is loud, my heart is strong, and my conviction steadfast. No donation is too small and I'm grateful for $3 or $5 or any amount.
