Changes to public funding mean that our small community mental health service, rich in heritage and deeply rooted in our community is going out of business. We are in imminent danger of losing  our Community House, and the funding we so desperately need to continue to deliver essential mental health peer support services to the Redlands community.

We cannot allow this 20 year old icon to close its doors. Our community NEEDS this service... AND WE DESPERATELY NEED YOUR HELP!

BIG is QLD’s first and longest running Peer-Operated Mental Health Service. This means that everyone at BIG,  from our Board of Management, to our staff, volunteers and members have all a lived experience of mental ill health. Our staff are trained Peer Specialists, people who use the insights gained from their own lived experience to support other people on the journey to recovery.

We are the last and only service of our kind in Redland City. For 20 years, BIG has been running its drop-in centre Community House where people can come regardless of where they’re at and get support. Whether they want to talk with one of our Peer Workers, join in one of our recovery-oriented groups or programs, or simply share a cup of coffee with people who understand what it’s like to live with a mental health condition... BIG is a unique, one of a kind service that offers something different.
