SAVE THE ASYLUM AND SUPPORT LOCAL MUSIC VENUES!
(FROM ASYLUM FACEBOOK PAGE) We’ve always been working on the edge of our financial capability and due to that, some of the bills don’t get paid on time. Ie ‘Do we buy beer, or do we get the window fixed?’ Obviously we bought beer!
But this situation can only go on for so long. We’re not turning enough money to support all the outgoings that come along when you’re running a venue like Asylum. Things have finally come to a head. One of our creditors want their money back yesterday and have now appointed bailiffs with the intention of entering the premises and seizing goods. That is unless we can come up with £12k by 19th November. This is only part of the debt but what they require to start.
Obviously that kind of money doesn’t grow on trees and most of the time we’re lucky if we have £12 spare, so it’s looking like the bailiffs are coming in and closing us down. This could be as soon as next weekend. We will keep you informed and if you have any questions you can get in touch on fb or e mail. Rest assured we are trying our hardest to secure the funds needed to keep us open to at least New Year, so please come and support us from Tuesday onwards and perhaps together we can raise the money to secure Asylum’s future. If not, it’s goodbye from me and goodbye from her.
LET'S BAND TOGETHER AS A COMMUNITY AND SAVE THIS VENUE. A VENUE THAT SUPPORTS LIVE MUSIC, UNSIGNED BANDS AND EVERYTHING STRANGE AND WONDERFUL ABOUT OUR LOCAL MUSIC SCENE.
Huge thanks to all you wonderful people that have donated to keep Asylum open - a mammoth effort from a lot of people. Awesome and extremely touching! Ed & Denise
Thanks to your donations we have made our first payment towards our debt and hoping to achieve the second deposit this week. We have agreed a 12 month plan for the remainder which will be hard going, but good news is Asylum is safe for a while longer! Appreciate all the ongoing support we are receiving. We are taking a close look at our business plan to hopefully avoid any future pitfalls and changes are already starting to take place. Things are finally looking up! thanks again xx
It's great to see everyone contributing. Don't forget to share this on your FB and Twitter feeds
To all the people who have put money into this campaign I give my heartfelt thanks,,everyone who comes in to Asylum can feel the family spirit and its you people who make it like this and ties like this last a lifetime
We don't drink beer, we sell it to run the venue so people can watch bands and socialise. No beer means no business!
And is there a pledge that you won't "obviously spend the money on beer" again ?
